    My Trip Report

Ok, this is my first real trip report. This trip got screwed up more then once. First I decided I didn't like my BF anymore after five years so I kicked him out and told him I was not going to Vegas with him. I then invited my sister to go and offered all expenses paid since I would have paid for the BF. I next went to double check my reservations and realized I booked them for the wrong month. Now I have flights with no ressie and with this being the week of the Iheart music fest.... I ended up with two nights at the GN and the rest at TI. I usually use my TR card with my BF or my cousin and we get comped the whole trip. Well she said yes then backed out on me the week before we were to leave. I now will book all trips with what I want to do and anybody else can go along with it or not go.

Left from BWI at 745pm flying Delta. Very uneventful flight, since I slept most of the way. Arrived at MCO at 1100 about a half an hour early and got luggage quickly and off to Fox rental car. We had to wait about 5 to 10 mins for the shuttle, which is the longest I have ever had to wait. I was one of the last ones on but the first off. Yay, so first in line to get my car. I was done with the rental process within 5 minutes. I never have had a problem except for the one time they changed their policies. Walked outside to pick my car and there was no one at the little box...so I had to yell over to the car cleaning area. A little old gentleman came over and I told him give me something good...He pointed to the white mustang convertible in front of me and said how about this...OH Yeah!!!

I drove down the strip with the top off was, it was nice. Arrived at GN and parked the car at the valet. Went in and there was two people in front of me to check in. My turn and I asked for a complimentary upgrade...nope for a $25 fee a night. Declined and took my deluxe room in the rush tower. The bed was nice, room was cleaned and loved the ipod clock.

    Day 2

Well, I work from home so I decided I would work some while on this trip. So I went down to the carson cafe and ate a decent breakfast. I am not a foodie so it was good enough for me. I went back up to the room, plugged in my ipod and got 5 hours worth of work completed. In room internet worked well and with no issues. I called room service and ordered the cheese pizza. It came quickly and wasn't bad. I don't usually order room service so a funny thing happened to me. I asked for a diet coke and they asked me if I wanted ice. Well, yeah if its not cold. I go to pour the diet coke in and there is a very tightly placed saran wrap on the glass of ice...Needless to say I made a mess...

I had a nice view of the pool. I didn't make it to the pool this trip but I will next time. Since this was a solo trip, I decided to stay downtown this day. After working I walked down to the El Cortez and played some slots. My budget for the trip is $400 a day. I played the new Epic Monopoly and I put in a hundred dollar bill and cashed out 200. So I took a fifty and tried again and cashed out 100. I did well on a red hot fusion too.

I am huge Giants fan so my game was on that night. So I went to the middle bar and stuck $10 in and played Keno while watching the game. I think I cashed out $20 and drank a whole bunch of yager and red bull drinks. El Cortez has a service where they will come to you if you are hungry. So I ordered a cheap dinner and paid with comps.

After the game I went to the four queens and played blackjack switch till three in the morning..which with me being from the east coast...I was hurting.

Great report so far! I recently went on my first solo trip to Vegas - it was fun, but a much shorter trip than yours. I might get bored with just myself for 6 days!!! Can't wait to hear more.

    Day 3

This day I check out of the golden nugget and check in to TI. I got up and went over to Binions cafe to eat. I had some comps at Binions so I used them for the hangover special. It was decent. I did a little shopping and went and checked out of the GN. I got the car from Valet which was always an easy process. I drove to Huntington Press to pick up my MRB, then off to the TI. Oh boy at 11am the line was long. They had a sign that they were allowing early checkin to start at 10 am. It took about an hour to get through the line due to TI only using 3 reps. Then came 3 more about a half hour later and the line starting moving. I asked for a strip view, but since I booked with a small package where my resort fee was optional, I got a crummy strip view. I had a direct view of the pool, but if I leaned to the right real hard I could see the back of the strip...lol. I was on the 32nd floor and could still hear the music from the pool.

So I got settled in and went down to the sports book and placed a few bets. I walked over to Casino Royal and tried to play BJ switch, but I don't ever seem to do well there. I played one of the SIC machines and won 220 on the shoe bonus which got me back the money I lost on the tables. Did a little more walking before deciding to go to EI for dinner. I went and sat in the lounge and ate the special. It's never a bad meal for me (again no foodie here). I had my coupon for 3 free rounds for two people. Had a bunch of jagerbombs, but I didnt drink all six cuz the slots suck there and I can only play the same machines so many times before it gets old.

Since I had so much fun downtown, I decided to go downtown and play some more. I started out at Binions, played some slots. I did well on the Elvis slot. I put in a 50 and cashed out 200. Works for me. I returned to Four Queens and played the rest of the night playing switch.

So far with my four hundred dollar a day budget, i have 600 put away to take home. I'm happy if I take any money home.

Since I worked part of the trip, it didn't give me as much free time. I would actually love to do another trip with no work. It was so relaxing, I didn't have to please anyone or sight see with anyone. Just did what I wanted to do the whole trip...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:peace:

Saturday...losing track of what day it was...lol

I woke up and needed breakfast. Breakfast is usually the meal that will make my tummy feel better after a rough night..:vomit: So I took my $10 off buffet coupon and went to Paris. I met a nice couple and shared my coupon with one of them and gave them my RIO buffet coupon since I wouldn't be able to use it. They invited me to sit with them and have breakfast. The food is good at the buffet but not organized well at all. You cant find normal bread, butter is no where near the bread, some pastries are over here some are near the omelete station...it's just not organized well.

I played some at paris, but I never win there. I went over to Ballys and played a little there. The slot machines are very spread out and not really a great selection. I went back to my room at TI and worked some. I got bored quickly with working so I got freshened up and dressed for the night. I had a groupon for Carlos N Charlies so thats where I went and sat at the bar. I got a skinny margarita and the barbequed shrimp. I thought the food was okay and the bartender was hillarious. I wanted honey mustard for my fries and since they didn't have any he decided to annouce to the whole rest that I wanted ketchup. (I dont like ketchup)They threw the ketchup across the rest and used a bull horn to announce the ketchup. I was disappointed at their dessert selection. This is a mexican restaurant with no fried ice cream or sopapillas...:grrr: I played at the flamingo and margaritaville casino for a few hours but got bored.

Decided to head back to downtown and try my luck there again. I went straight to four queens and played switch for the rest of the night. Pitboss gave me a comp for $20 at Magnolias.

Sunday and football!!!! Plus the rest of the trip.

I went to Planet Hollywood to go to the buffet and use my $10 off the buffet and pay with my points. Played for several hours at PH and did fairly well. I was going to find a spot to watch football, but before I knew my whole parlay bet was shot to ...... Darn 49ers!!!!! So I opted to stay playing and earn some points. I had a good hit on the SIC machine...no bonus but the whole board had SIC wilds except for like 2 or 3 squares and the squares that were not wilds were Mr. Big and other girls...woo hoo!!! That paid like $180. I walked over to the Cosmo and finally found the pizza place. Pizza was pretty good and some 49ers fans were in there. I had to express to them my dissapointment in their boys..ugggghhhh.

Did some shopping and some strip walking since I have a teenager who will be highly upset if she doesn't get gifts when I come home. I went back to the room and really didn't feel like working so I got a shower and freshened up. I was going to take a nap, but I knew me...If I go to sleep at 4pm, I would be done for the night and be up at 5am...nope. Gonna get some red bull in me and tough if. I went downtown and went straight to Magnolias. There was no wait but since I was not worried about their 4-10pm specials they have, I think I got there at like 430. I had the steak and eggs, which was very good. I played some slots and then walked around downtown. Went back to El Co and played for a while. I drug myself back to the four queens where I played for several hours before I started falling asleep at the table. This time the pitboss gave me $30 for Magnolias. Nope thats it, I got to get some sleep. I was in bed by 11pm, but still no peaceful night since there was drama back home..ugghhh.

Monday - I drove to downtown and had breakfast at Magnolias. I had the NY strip and eggs this time. Good enough for me. Today was a day I had to finish shopping for the teen. I got some stuff downtown then drove to PH to park the car and go to M&M world. Uneventful shopping and munching while I shop. Went back to the room to freshen up for my last night. I had all intentions since i had a 6am flight, I would go through the night and sleep on the plane. Yeah well that didn't work. I was so exhausted I only made it till 11pm again...

Doesn't need courage. They are a lot of fun.

You get some funny looks from friends/family/border guards "you're going alone!?", but once you're to Vegas its all awesome.

I recently did a long solo trip (which I was a bit concerned about), and knocked so many things off my vegas to-do list its crazy. It would have been to meet up with friends, and I'm sure I would have enjoyed that, too. But I probably wouldn't have tried half the restaurants / shows /other stuff I did if I were there with them.

I took the same approach as the OP. Book it when I want to go, and if others can come along, great. And in the meantime, make a list of all the stuff you ever wanted to check out but couldn't get your friends to go to.

You're not kidding about the looks from the family and friends. What your going by yourself...is that safe..are you going to be bored..are you sad? Got lots of those questions.

I can't wait till the next one.

I was trying to plan a solo trip myself and I got the look of death from my girlfriend when I was saying I wanted to go to Vegas by myself. It doesn't bother me because I go and play poker and wanted to check out some of the tournaments Vegas offers. She doesn't appreciate the idea though!

My trip was basically solo. My friends were staying at the Flamingo and I stayed at the Signature. I LOVED the freedom! Everyone was SO nice, I never felt nervous and met a ton of people. My cab drivers were so much fun. I'm really excited to go back:) If you have ever thought about taking a solo trip...go! You won't regret it!

This is my first trip to Vegas and I'm going solo. Was supposed to be going to Jamaica but the girls backed out. Didn't want to go there alone. Because I had planned to share expenses with the girls not enough money to take the hubby. Decided vegas was a good place to people watch and enough people around figure I'll never feel alone if I don't want too. The weird comments and looks are never ending tho. Of COURSE I must be going for some other reason..:nono:

Going solo is great.I love my wife very much but its great to get away once in a while BY MYSELF.Its been said many times here but going solo you can really do what you want to do for as long as you want to.Sometimes I'll sit at a BJ table for hours and maybe the next time, in the same casino, I'll just stay a few minutes depending on how the place feels. Its up to me. It sounds like you're a confident girl going by yourself to Elco and hanging around DT.I've always said that the FSE is safe for the most part and arguablly safer than many, many spots on the strip. Keep the report coming please....

Yeah. I'm solo nov 16 for five days. First solo trip. Looking forward big time. Don't think I'll have an issue meeting people if I get bored.
