    My Trip Report

Just getting a head start on my upcoming TR. I plan on doing a LIVE TR. With pictures. With stories of pranks (I love to prank the public to cause tons of confusion). Drinks will be involved. Gambling depending on what's up. Bankroll is currently at $500. BUT I get paid on Friday, and I only have one bill. AT&T added on $150+tax extra charges and still have not taken it off the account yet, so I have not paid that bill yet (they received my broken TV receiver, but the charges say they didn't. Insert eye roll here. But I estimate another $1-400 to my bankroll. Don't want to go crazy on the gambling. UPDATE: My situation with AT&T was finally taken care of. My official bankroll for this entire trip is $1,000. I do not plan on spending more than $200 a day in gambling, BUT you never know when the need arises to have some extra cash. One of my mistakes last year was doing cash withdrawals at the ATM on my credit card. No more. I blame the drinking.

I am getting very excited for this. I will promise you this - this TR will not be as epic as @notfromconcentrate, but I will do my best to update as often as he did and include stories.

I have a couple goals for this trip.

The first: Win some serious cash. I would be totally happy with $5,000 as it will help wipe out my credit card debt. I am not greedy at all, so I think $5,000 is perfect for a low roller like myself.

The second: Try to find @Richard Alpert. He seems a bit LOST. I would like to help him find his way home.

    Tuesday 8/7:
Land around 10 am, probably a little earlier based on my history with Spirit.
    WAX to 4th and Carson.
Check into The Cal. Doubt I'll have a room as early as 11 am or noon. But whatever.
Grab some food, maybe MSS brunch. We'll see. I'm sure I'll be hungry.
    Possibly get DuPars at Suncoast???
I do have it listed in my Google Calendar for Filet Sliders at Chicago Brewing Co. I believe.
Planning on buying a souvenir cup at ABC store, and a case of Truly sparkling water (singular flavor, hopefully) and filling it up with ice too. Otherwise, I'll have to carry a few cans in my drawstring bag.
Gambling: Cheap blackjack, some older slots

    Wednesday 8/8:
Wake up whenever (but needs to be no later than 10am).
Uber/Lyft to Wynn (depending on cost) or take the Deuce to there.
    Wynn brunch ($30)
Check into the Mirage (MyVegas comp). Hoping for noon/1pm early check-in.
If not too tired, then get ready for pool. I want some time in the pool.
I have Nacho Daddy on my Google Calendar for this day for some reason. Need to find out where it is at and plan accordingly.
Gambling: Slots, most likely. VP is under consideration as well.

    Thursday 8/9:
Wake up whenever, no later than 10:30/11am.
Haul ass to Aria for Aria brunch (MyVegas).
No firm plans for this day except a few hours in the pool. Maybe a nap then pool AGAIN. I go back to work the following week, so if I can take advantage of my remaining nap times during the summer, I will. I've only had 4 or 5 naps all summer, which is well short of my quota of 20 minimum.
NO DINNER SCHEDULED in my Google Calendar, so I guess this is an open date.
However, the Bears have a preseason game this day. Need to find a place with cheap drinks and maybe cheap appetizers. Maybe check out the Westgate since I've never been there? I know it won't be cheap drinks there, but I can bring a couple 16oz'ers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I only plan on watching the first and MAYBE second stringers. Another option is PBR Bar & Grill. I've always wanted to try their food, and I like that they have an outside section where I can smoke. I get jittery during the games, LOL, even though it's the fucking preseason!
Gambling: Slots, most likely. VP is under consideration as well.

    Friday 8/10:
No plans. Flight for Denver takes off around 5:30pm if my memory is correct. No food scheduled for this day as well, so options are open.

I return home on Sunday the 12th. I have open house at work on the 14th and 15th (for some reason, we are having TWO this year). Officially back for all day meetings on the 16th and 17th. Students return on the 20th. I am starting at a new school this year (I transferred with my principal), so I have anxiety for meeting the new staff and new students. I can be a bit of an introvert.

    OTHER:
-Want to grab $.05 cent beers during happy hour.
-Want to try a new pizza place.
-Want to explore WynnCore and Venetian. Have not really spent much time in those hotels as I am mostly a CET player. I don't even know if I will play at mostly MGM properties (or even at WynnCore and Venetian) this time. I understand that splitting these up will not get me good, if any, offers in the future. I have two CET properties about 30-45 minutes from my home, so I am not too worried about the CET part.

PLEASE NOTE: I may update/revise this post as the day gets closer. Any revisions made will be marked in RED. (If I can figure out how to change text colors, because I don't see it at the top, except for the BB Code box. Otherwise, I will just add it to the bottom of this post.

Nacho Daddy is by Planet Hollywood off Harmon. It is right around the corner from the Walgreens past McDonald's.

Thanks! I know where exactly that is!

I seem to do my best with Jacks or Better online. Haven't really practiced others. As for Cosmo, I was going to see how fast my money drains (or grows!). If it is a money sucker, then I'll probably leave.

there is also a Nacho Daddy downtown - in that Neonopolis area. If you are at the Cal around dinner time, may I recommend an amazing dinner at the Fremont - Second Street Grill - it’s like seriously an oasis - you hear NOTHING of casino noise.....check their hours as they are closed some days but if you go please tell my friend Leslie (the manager) I said hi - she’ll treat you right!

Looked at the menu. Seems way too fancy for me. I like to keep things casual. Plus I would rather be with a companion if I'm doing a dinner like that.

    Looks great though!

However, if I win hundreds, then I'll do it!

Apparently, my thread was moved to MISC section, even though this is my live TR that I am preparing ahead in advance.

It was probably moved because you put it in the Trip Reports section too early. Board rules ask that you don’t have a trip report in the trip reports section until the day before the trip. You can likely kindly ask an admin to move your thread to the trip reports section when you’re less than a day out from your trip’s start.

Here are the trip report rules and guidelines: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/trip-report-rules-guidelines.54588/

Major update. Might need to cancel Vegas. Mom fell while the nephew and I were playing miniature golf. She fractured her ankle and thumb. She already has leukemia and polymyositis, which already weakens the muscles. Dad can't lift her on her own. We have a doctor's appointment on Monday. Sister and I are hoping they send her to a rehab center for a few weeks where she can get the support she needs. My house is not suitable at all for her. Lots of stairs. Took her 15 minutes to get upstairs, where she will remain until Monday. If there is no rehab center or walking boot, then I don't see how I can possibly go. I may even need to consider FMLA leave from work. Ugh. Very stressed out at the moment.

I will go if she is safe. It's going to be a last minute decision, obviously. She's going to want me to go and FaceTime her the entire trip, lol. It is her favorite place! But I just can't go if she's still in my house. She's going to need lots of support. Hoping for best news, but I am in the process of accepting the fact that I am not going. It is not like Vegas is gone forever, right?

That's bad luck, but you are being a good son and doing the right thing! Vegas will always be there if you can't go...things happen for a reason! I hope your mom feels better too!

She broke down in tears when I told her I was not going. She said I must absolutely go and FaceTime as much and will give me every cash in the house to play for her.

I told her let's just wait until Monday and see what the doctor says. We need to have a fofi and safe plan in place. Whether it her being annoyeda into the hospital or accepted into rehab.

I also told her I can skip Denver and just come straight home Friday. (My sister works for American airlines so I can use her red eye pass if necessary) So we will see what's up with that.

According to Mom, I'm still going. I disagree. But we will see what happens on Monday. It is not the end of the world.

I have accepted I will not be going. Not the end of the world. Hell, I probably saved myself $1k in bankroll, LOL! (She enjoyed that comment)

Just have to hope for best news.
