Got it. And I hear you regarding the carb overload. I'm kind of afraid to get on the scale now that I am back at home as I really overdid it during my trip. LOL.

Stopped at the Aria MLife desk while there. I'll make Platinum this trip.

In several threads on this board, users advise "Don't chase tier status"

I asked the boothling what was different about Platinum.... She replied that its really same as Gold plus an extra 10% on points for play.

I can't think of better validation of the don't chase status advice

Yeah of all the major chains, I feel like MLife offers the least guaranteed perks by card status. Sometimes lines are only platinum+ afaik, so that will save some time.

Looks like you had a nice trip though!

Wow Catch looks good but I would not take kindly to being moved like that. Good to know. I don't mind the worst table in the place if I'm solo but being moved on top of it would make me leave. Some of these places in Aria are a little too big for their britches I find.

One thing I will be asking at Cashier today as I check out.... does status affect any transaction fees.

I'm registered with VIP Preferred for cash. No fees to users at CA casinos,... most LV casinos started charging fees a few years ago -1 or 2%. I learned in August that Cosmo waives fees if Gold Identity.

I have an illogical hangup.... I dont mind paying outrageous Vegas prices for food, resort fees, etc. But I detest paying even ATM fees, cash withdrawal fees etc. I'll go to great lengths to avoid fees, like drive to a bank, or hike to Wynn where they don't charge fees (as of January). If I had one and only one favorite place, I'd get a credit line....

Maybe MGM waives fees for Platinum?

UPDATE: cashier rep told me no fees if staying at hotel, otherwise 1.5%. How did I not know that?

breakfast at Sadelle's. I'm guessing this is sixth or seventh breakfast at Sadelles over past two years..... first time not salmon Benedict.

Whitefish salad... served with tomatoes capers cucumbers and a bagel. The tower makes for nice presentation. Side of berries with crystalized sugar and some mint.

Salmon Benedict will always be my goto.... but if this is available for lunch... it's going to be a lunch regular 20201014_091238.jpg

Are you talking about cash withdrawal fees from ATMs? I did not know you could get them waived either...

    No, not ATM.

Theres an e*check service called VIP Preferred. Go to cashier, remove cash from your bank. Until 2018, was free everywhere.... Still is some places. https://www.vippreferred.com/en

In 2018, I took out money at Luxor, and cashier told me there's now a fee. She waived it that one time. (I wasn't staying there, but was at MB.) I've asked at other places.... CET and Cosmo....they all charge a fee... 1 or 2%. Wynn was no-fee last time I tried. But I just assumed there's a fee after Luxor.

It's good news to learn its free for hotel guests at Bellagio... assume other MGM. But my reaction is a little mixed, when I think of my drives off-Strip to banks, etc. to withdraw money.

Update... I had a few hours to kill today after checkout. But no cash. Tried the VIP Preferred at Bellagio. Cashier told me Platinum...no fees. So no worries about being hotel guest, but moving around Strip properties.

Technically, I just didnt want that post-carb crash while walking down the Strip.

    But, what's a scale?

Home again. Apparently it's as hot in SF Bay as LV.

Spent my last day in LV packing, checking out, and some walking. Got quickly slaughtered playing at Cosmo.

Decided to walk to Linq to try Gordon Ramsey Fish & Chips. They were as good as reputed. No place to sit/stand inside to eat these days... But Linq Promenade makes for good people watching standing outside while eating. For those who want variety... unpublished secret menu item....The G Spot... Fish, Shrimp and Chicken combo.

Walked back to Bellagio. Comments about how trashed the area around Cromwell has become are accurate. Also lots of people panhandling or sleeping on the CP corner of Flamingo and LVB.

Airport, flight, etc.... a woman had a medical emergency on our flight, but it seemed relatively minor. We landed as scheduled, were told to stay in our seats. Paramedics arrived, helped her walk off the plane under her own power. So most importantly, she was ok.... and de-planing was delayed only 2-3 minutes.

Good to be home again.... especially with reservations to return to LV two, maybe three, times before year-end.

Thanks for a fun and informative report! I have yet to try a GR restaurant but looking forward to finally doing it during my next trip.
