So what's a low roller to do now that Boyd has forsaken us?

So, what is a low roller to do now that Boyd has forsaken us?

I really don't have much of a plan for our upcoming trip so I thought I'd run it by the collective wisdom here.

We really do prefer the off-strip locals casinos though even over downtown. And really, really don't want to be on the Strip. Rooms/casino/amenities similar to Gold Coast and Orleans.

We each start the day with about $350 in bankroll. Some days it lasts a good long while. Other days, not so much. I would say we probably average about 3,000 points per day each when playing at a Boyd. We play mostly nickel multi-line VP, some quarter single line, some nickel multiline carnival VP (dream card, multistrike, quick quads, hot roll, powerhouse poker, etc) and some slots and sometimes some BJ, Pai Gow and/or Let It Ride.

We are probably going to put in one good day each at The D (both playing on one card to try to max out the ACG or MRB coupon for FSP with play, rinse and repeat with the other card the next day). Our best play will probably be at the Vue Bar for the 8/5 BP progressives for quarters. We'll mix in a few slots also and see what that gets us.

We are thinking doing the same thing at Rio. I could deal with the Rio. We are both Platinum but only through the credit card. Otherwise we are micro rollers but it seems that our little bit of play here does get us mid week rooms for 2 nights each anyway.

I realize it would probably be better if we played on one card only at some of these places, but we'd really rather try to both get offers so that we can book them back to back and not have to move every 2 days. I can handle moving every 3-4 days on an 8-10 day trip.

Any other viable options out there we should consider?

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    Kelly

As a fellow low roller, I found Rio to have terrible video poker pay tables and fairly high limit games. I wouldn't want to be comped there if they would have me. We thought Cannery was nice. I think Four Queens probably has the easiest comps Downtown, and I hear Plaza is reaching out to new players.

Well I for one would make myself a comfy new home at the Eastside Cannery. Fair table limits, nice restaurant options, decently remodeled rooms. Hell, I'm practically talking myself into it! See you out there!

What's the beef? The downtown properties are still only $36/night with no resort fee for ruby level players. The restaurants and gift shops are the most reasonable in Vegas. I'm still going and will pay the pittance they ask for a decent clean room.

I'd second Sams Town or Eastside Cannery..or switch to Reno.

if you're at Rio and the old coast, might as well play some at Palms station, they have good games. Also southpoint and M if you're going in that direction

The D and DTG have been the easiest comps I have seen.
I play about 200 through at the D each time I am there, and get three free nights and some food credit.
My son put 100 dollars on red two times and they send him free rooms, that is all he gambled!
DGT will give free rooms for playing through a couple of hundred, and some food comp.
I like those places better than Fremont personally, so you may want to try and see what offers
    they send!

I have heard complaints on getting comps about every downtown hotel. Some get great comps , while other larger players seem to get worse comps. I can't figure out the rhyme or reasons. Some say they cycle 200-300 and get comps while other cycle thousands and get shitty comps. In DTG thread people bitch about comps. In ElCo thread people bitch about comps. And so on.

Just to make a comment...they haven't forsaken me. For our trip in two weeks, a suite, limo, $80 in FP and Gold Card.
