This is what I do as well. If I'm going from one place to another on the strip, I'll cab it. But, if I'm going from downtown to the strip, or airport to downtown, I'll do Uber/Lyft/Bus/Limo. Just don't want to have to deal with cabs anymore. Why stress on vacation when you don't have to?

Going to Rio, wouldn't that be the "better option"? Since they're across the freeway from the strip. But, What do I know. I haven't stayed there in years.

In most places (Strip casinos, airport etc) the cab drivers have to wait in line, they are not allowed to cut the line and pick up a "friend" passenger.

I have to dispute that. I have used the "twitter taxis" before. I sent a tweet and was picked up.

Hi Kodi, looks like hubby and I will be in town at the same time as you; we arrive on the 19th and depart on the 24th.

Nope. Swenson to Trop to freeway...or Swenson/Paradise to Flamingo to Rio...both of those routes are less than being tunneled.

I've become friends with one particular cabbie in Vegas. He's very active on Twitter and used to have a great blog (before twitter)...he gives great insight into the life of a Vegas cabbie and is as honest as the day is long. @LVCabChronicles....great guy, great cabbie.

Kodi....Not knowing how much luggage you have, would the SDX work for you? The stop is right in front of Paris and drop off is downtown. I usuallygo early morning (the SDX doesn't run until 9 a.m.) and it is not crowded so the luggage is not too difficult.

kkinwi: Not adverse to using the bus, but was under the impression that we could not get on with anything but a carry on bag. We will have one 26" suitcase and a carry on...plus my 300 pound purse. Have you seen luggage THAT size on the bus?

Does anyone else know if it is allowed?

You should be fine, esp if you go earlier in the day when it's not so crowded. You just walk on the SDX anyway....the driver is in the front secluded. There is lots of area to stand in the front, and I have seen people bring bikes on!
