I mean seriously, who would light up a cigar at a Blackjack Table, or any other table game where the other patrons who do not smoke would be breathing your after smoke, which is known to cause cancer. It's bad enough to go into a casino that is smoky but in close quarters it's just unacceptable.
I can tell you I have been at a video game where a lady with an oxygen breathing tank sat down next to me, lit a cigarette, put it down in the ashtray and let it smolder away. Of course the smoke finds its way to my delicate nostrils. This has happened more than once!
Well, hopefully they are dead now so it won't happen again.
If you smoke then you are in the minority so please be courteous and take into account the fact that non smokers don't want to breath your after smoke.
How much more polite can we be?

    You mean people still smoke?
Its not like they know for certain smoking is bad for you, right?
But there is no way in hell they play the 6:5 BJ table

Amazing isn't it... that people still drink... what with all the cancer , cirrhosis , hangovers , etc. :p Bob

Minority in the United States? Absolutely.
Minority at the tables of Las Vegas casinos?
    Don't be so sure.
The next time your in a Vegas casino, walk through the table-game pit & do a quick count of non-smokers...those without an ashtray, no pack on the table and not actually smoking. My guess is that it'll be roughly 50/50...
Then, subtract from that number any open seats at the comparable "non-smoking" tables for that game.
I think you'll discover that there are more smokers than non-smokers who have an issue with it. If it was important to them, they'd be at the non-smoking table.

I see this at the El-Co, Fremont, MSS & Gold Coast everytime I'm there... packed blackjack tables where smoking is permitted, and empty "non-smoking" tables offering the identical game.

In any event, the vast majority of businesses (95+%?) in America prohibit indoor smoking, usually because the government has required it.
I dare say that the percentage of smokers in America hasn't yet dropped to under 5%. So - even though smokers are a national minority, they are UNDER-represented by America's businesses...primarily because the government says so through various ordinances.

    Really?
    Wow.

I thought maybe he was being tongue-in-cheek, since his avatar is a guy smoking what appears to be a cigar.

I love a cigar or two when in Vegas. But I hate when I inhale someone else's smoke, so I don't smoke at any table. I may have a cigar when I sit at a slot with nobody next to me or when I'm grazing the casino floor. But since I hate someone directly next to me smoking, I don't do it to others.
