On my trip a couple weeks ago we checked out Arizona Charlies-Decatur. We could only stay minutes because of the air quality. I'm not normally bothered by smoke in most casinos even the older ones downtown. This was the worst I've experienced in years and will never return. I don't know what the problem was the ceilings aren't that low maybe they turned off the ventilation to save money. I'm not dumping on smokers I play at smoking tables and next to smokers at machines without bitching or being bothered.

What are the worst you have experienced recently? Not counting really small dives.

I'm not bothered by smoke in the least, but I agree Arizona Charlie's is probably the worst I've encountered and that was 10+ years ago!

It seems the worst smoke is found out in the lowest tier local places.

The worst I ever experienced was at the Longhorn Casino out on Boulder. I hear the old Nevada Palace where the Eastside Cannery now sits coulda given it a run for its $$ though.

Notable mention goes to Jokers Wild.

Never been there, but have read posters that say the Skyline is still very smokey.

the el cortez isn't that great either. I usually leave if a heavy smoker sits next to me (unless I'm winning a lot).

I think it's the ventillation system not being able to clear out the smoke in many of those casinos.

the heavy smokers bother me (chain smokers who light up one after the other) so I usually move on if possible. sometimes I'm on a hot craps table and I just live with the smoke until the shooter sevens out, then I just move on.

This might surprise most of you but - Venetian last year!

I was a smoker for 17 years - It will be 2 years in May since my husband and I quit. I still vape religiously but even being near cig smoke now makes me ill quickly. My mom and I were playing at Venetian back in Oct and I couldn't help but notice how incredibly smokey it was in there. It was so bad, I started feeling really sick and had to leave. It was awful. Even their high -powered flower scent couldn't mask it.

For smoke probably the worst I've experienced is Four Queens.

I could sense and even see a lot of smoke in the air at El Cortez but we've only been there once and that was for about 30 minutes so can't say if its always like that, whereas with Four Queens my wife really likes that place and does well in their casino so we spend a fair bit of time in there every trip and in doing so I am always taking breaks every 15-30 minutes to go stand outside and get some fresh air... and I am a smoker too.

But for the worst: whatever they pump in to the air to give it that smell at Venetian, that seems to have the worst effect on me. A couple of hours in there a trip or two back and it felt like I was having a cardiac event I had so might tightness and pressure in my chest. The next day we went back and it only took about 45 minutes to hit me that time and even my wife was complaining really badly about it.

The worst I've seen was Orleans. It only happened once out of all my visits but the smoke got to me and I was having major coughing jags. The Venetian got to me too but it was the perfume they pump in. It gave me a headache.
