Ready for better temps....

...this morning at home.
Pre-Book SWA to DAL and then to LAS. got A29 and changed connecting flight in DAL to an earlier one so I don't have to spend 3 hrs at DLove. Getting to LAS earlier but have to make a stop in Lubbock. Anything for more time in Vegas, right?
Solo until Wed morning when my daughter and her bf get in from Portland. I'll be at Harrah's, they're at Mirage. My wife has reached her Vegas trip limit for a while and she's busy with holiday plans. I get back to Memphis Friday night and we go to Nashville Saturday morning for the weekend. Here, there and everywhere.....(to quote the Beatles!

Well, my EB was great on the first leg. Since I requested the change in connecting flights, I gave up my EB status and am now bunped down to C3. But, when we stop in Lubbock, I will be movin on up to a better seat. I also scored TSA Precheck, a first for me on a one way flight.
On to Vegas!

All checked in at the Diamond check in. Got a "Petite Suite" 11th floor. Not such a big deal since I'm solo here. Two windows, a couch, big bathroom and it's really quiet. Supposedly 600 sq ft which is much larger than the Valley Tower rooms. Actually, im not a fan of the type of lighting in the VT rooms.
Heading out for dinner, etc. Will put pics up later. Oh yeah, I did the Amex Uber deal for my free ride to Harrah's.

on thre first spin of the trip on the first 20.00 at Paris. Ended up with 400.00 off of that 20.00.
Finally had the ribcap at GR Steak. Very tasty as was everything else.
Wandered to Flamingo, Mirage and Venetian before returning to Harrah's. Overall, up 250.00 for my first evening. So, a free steak dinner, free oversized room, free Uber ride from the airport and +250.00. Let the spirit continue Wednesday.

Someone took a bite out of your ribcap. Great start of the trip. Looking forward to following along.

Hey, I took so many bites, it disappeared! I tried to have a leisurely meal but being solo..didn't exactly happen.

Good eats at GR. Everybody recommends the ribcap, but I usually go with quantity over quality and get bone-in ribeye because I'm a cheapskate. Of course I always get the $17 Caesar salad with the scotch egg as well. :D

Next time it's the ribeye for me too. The ribcap was sort of a bucket list thing. Only wish the scotch egg was larger! I love anchovies and they added them to the salad for me.

Wednesday morning I was lazy and got room service for breakfast. Ah, the good ole days of real plates and silverware. Now you get a takeout bag here at Harrah's and at Mirage too.

My daughter and BF got in this morning and I was able to check them in at Mirage at 11am. So far, he seems to be a nice guy, my first time meeting him. Of course, I'll continue the cross examination as the trip goes on.
Lunch at Carnegie Deli. Good as usual but portions seem to have been cutdown to reasonable sizes, which is not a complaint.
I had pretty good luck at Harrah's this morning...

started off with 40.00 on these two sessions.
Mirage wasn't too kind on roulette so I switched back to slots. This Sphinx game is so nerve-wracking. I got all the way to the top level and could never crack in for the big payoff.

Tonight it'll be Giada's and Piff the Magic Dragon at Flamingo. (it's an acquired taste show). I was able to buy tickets with my TR points since the logistics of comp tickets didn't work for us.
Will post dinner pics, etc. later...

One of these days I'm going to have to give GR Steak a go. Looked tasty.

Damn...paper bags, plastic plates/utensils, ketchup packets??! :nono:

Congrats on the nice hits. Keep it up.

WTF - Plastic plates/cutlery & cups for room service?
No thank you!

No pics from tonight unfortunately. Walked out of Harrah's with intentions of walking to The Cromwell with the "kids". Rain forced the exercise session to be averted in lieu of a nice dry Uber ride.
Giada's did not disappoint as usual. It was the "kids" first time there and they were impressed. On a side note, it's worth a trip to The Cromwell just to appreciate the CW's "uniforms"! Trust me fellas.
So, gambling-wise, mostly spent time at that horizontal wheelie table. I believe it's called roulette? Walked away with double my buy-in. Calling it for the night.
Tomorrow, the real reason/excuse for this trip..KU vs UNLV at Thomas & Mack. The daughter is a KU alum.
I'm just a mega-fan. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

How was Piff? Loved him on America's Got Talent.
Piff is a love/hate kind of act. Obviously, I love him. My daughter's boyfriend loves him. The daughter...meh! Piff was great in a small live setting where he jad a lot of audience participation. Mr Piffles is such a good part of the act too. Got to pet him. (Mr Piffles, not Piff!). Some really good head-scratching magic tricks as well.

Better night's sleep. Went to Walgreens early and got some otc drugs per the pharmacist's suggestion. Trying to feel better on this drizzly cloudy day, the last one of the trip.
This helped me feel better......

First time in Wynn in about 3 years. First machine, .25 Elvis 40.00 in. Thank ya, thank ya very much! Since I can't see Big Elvis, at least I can enjoy the videos of the real thing on the machine.
"Kids" were probably out pretty late last night after I tirned in. We're meeting for lunch and plans tbd.
