    Hi there,

I was just surfing the internet and came across the skyline Casino in Henderson, on Boulder Highway.

I have never been to it, or for that matter, even heard of it.

However, this is what I discovered, and would like to share.

They have a breakfast special for $1.99. in their diner. (brings back memories of Old Vegas).

Their hotel rooms have recently been remodeled, and their Queen Executive and King Executive Suites, even have a FIREPLACE in the room, with two easy chairs in front of the fireplace. Great for visiting Vegas in winter. All the rooms look very nice.

The best thing, NO RESORT FEE!! I just did a random search for the king executive room, Sun. -Thurs for Sept. and came up with a room rate of $79.00.

Now, I have no idea about the neighborhood, or how far away it is from Vegas, but it appears it may be a great deal for anyone with a car.

I'm going to try and check out the diner on our upcoming trip, since I will have access to a car.

According to LVA they offer a $2.25 shrimp cocktail 24/7 at the main bar.

We ate the prime rib dinner it was disappointing

Breakfast might be a good deal it looks good in the picture

I am thinking they added the hotel since I have been there
    I don’t remember seeing one

I have gone 3 times they did have good video poker at that time.
It was very smoky and a small casino

    I uber'd out to it.
    Very small smoky casino.
I went on a Tuesday night around 9pm and all table games were closed (not that there was many tables)

I will admit it did have an old school vibe and the hot dog statue at the front entrance said free hot dogs during Monday night football

My first impression of skyline was too funny. My friend picked me up at Wynn where all these elaborate flower arrangements are. The first view going in to skyline is an arrangement of plastic flowers on a small table

It's not that far out (by Vegas standards) and not a bad area. I kind of liked it but did not try the food. We were doing a dive casino run and didn't stay that long. I didn't notice the smoke other mentioned but it was day time and not very busy.

If you like table games, I think you will be disappointed.

We stayed there last nov in the executive king suite for $99.00 no resort fee the room was awesome, they have laundry that's very nice and if you roll 3-3's when you check in you get the room for free. We had very good food at the café and it was cheap. They have a small bill hill sports book, $3.00 black jack after 4 pm, a nice selection of slots, free parking, and very good vp rules and are very fast with the drinks while playing me and the wife would play 1 machine together and would give us each a drink we loved that. If you check out our trip report Mr. & Mrs. Vegas road trip to vegas we have lots of pic's of the Skyline. It is only a couple of miles south of Sams Town on the Boulder HYW. We will be back.

One more place I'm adding to my list. LOL

I was just at Skyline last night. It's close to where my relatives live, so I've been stopping in every time I'm in Henderson.

I love the old-school Vegas feel. There is excellent VP at the bar - $.25 full-pay JoB with a progressive Royal that resets at $1,250 (there are other full-pay games hooked to the progressive, including Bonus Poker Deluxe). They also have a slot club and usually have multiplier promotions running; this month is 7x points of VP 24/7. Plus free bingo for players every morning at 10AM. And live music some evenings, I'm partial to the polka band that is sometimes there. I have had the $1.95 breakfast (must buy beverage) and it was fine - not as good as the picture (what is?), but was filling and can't be beat at that price point. I haven't been willing to try the shrimp cocktail, but I believe @smerrian has and lived to tell the tale.

Thanks for posting about the Skyline. Definitely will make a stop there. Sounds like a fun place and I like Old School Vegas joints. LOL

    Skyline is excellent.
    Best:
    > The vp at the bar is a positive expectation game once you add in the full pay, the progressive, the vp bingo cards, the comps and, at times, the multipliers. (Not all machines at the bar are full pay, nor are all in the progressive.)
    > The cafe is a great bargain for breakfast.
    > I love the polka band and the country western band that play on the weekends.

    Worst:
    > The place is small and can get smokey, though I've rarely found it that way.
    > The cafe is mediocre, at best, for lunch or dinner. Go at breakfast, it's great and cheap.
    > The shrimp cocktail used to be a bargain at $1.25 with small shrimp and incredibly great sauce (homemade). Now it's small shrimp pieces, yuk, and I wouldn't even pay $1.25 for it much less the new price of $2.25.

It's a great vp stop...I think the best in the city.

    3 weeks. Yikes!

Some of their VP in the Deuces Wild Corral are on machines that predate Cathode Ray Tubes. I think some very old, arthritic monkeys are drawing the hands as they are being played.

At the time I went I was a smoker and it was too smoky for me! That would be the ultimate downside. I, usually by the end of the day, smell like an ashtray after being at just about any casino...Skyline will have you smelling like an ashtray in under a minute - hey that should be their new tagline!

I go for breakfast and early morning play. The smoke isn't bad at all at that time. I'm a non-smoker.

I thought the $.25 9/6 JoB w/ progressive at the bar was downgraded earlier this year?

Nope. But only some of the games are 9/6 and only some of the games are hooked to the progressive, so be careful where you sit.
