My first thought was roller skating / roller blading rink, but this is actually an ice rink with synthetic ice. Should be interesting.

Crystal Palace on Rancho, just a tad north of Texas Station (There USED to be THREE CP's in Vegas...but alas..no one skates anymore)

wow, another worthless place IMHO that I will never visit. Since they took away gambling at the spike I have little reason to visit the place either. Wish he would buy other land and properties instead so hopefully one day someone else could open a hotel/casino in the closed places (like the western).

Gold Spike is so much better positioned to reopen as a casino no that Downtown Grand is up and going. That whole street feels WAY nicer with DTG on the block.

I am not going to fly 4 hours across the country to ice skate. I can do that at home. Plus, ice skating drunk sounds like a recipe for disaster!:drunk:

I don't think Tony cares what tourists do or don't do... he's stated time and again, he wants to see a "sense of community" developed in Las Vegas. He's puttin' his money where his vision is and that's cool with me.

I understand Tony's "vision". I just wish that he would do it elsewhere and let the downtown area be more for the gamblers. The spike and western weren't that great casinos but at least we had another option to play or visit. With Tony taking over various places that option is almost gone.

Yes, with the DTG in the area it would be nice if the spike reopens as a casino but doesn't seem likely unless it is sold again to someone who wants to open it as a casino again. As mentioned the other day, the license for the western is about to expire and if it expires then new owners (if they want to open a casino again) will have to start from square one to get a gambling license.
