He passed away In Switzerland today. Best known for playing James Bond he was also The Saint and played alongside Tony Curtis in The Persuaders. Being a Bond fan myself I grew up with Moore in the role as 007. The films were a bit comical and he was certainly a different Bond than Sir Sean Connery. Maybe the Jacket I bought in Vegas signed by the Bond actors has gone up in value.

I just watched "For Your Eyes Only" (corniest song ever lol) on Saturday afternoon and was thinking "Damn, I wonder how Roger Moore is doing nowadays??" Well, fuck....Yeah, as a 70's and 80's kid he was my James Bond also. I remember watching Octopussy almost daily when I had to come inside because of the typical afternoon Florida thunderstorms all during the summer of 1984.Seemed like that movie was on HBO at least 10 times a day..

Reno to Las Vegas...and other places in between..

He replaced Sean Connery and he's actually older.

George Lazenby was my favorite Bond (the one nobody knows about...).
But Roger Moore is the initial face that pops into my head when I think of Bond, because his were the first movies I saw as a boy.

No one did it like Sean Connery. He WAS James Bond.

Connery followed, a ways back, by Lazenby (who only had that one shot to display his rendition, of course).

    My original Bond.
The Spy Who Loved Me is the best. Calling my shot. The parachute jump still astounds me, a ski hits the 'chute.
