It's last known position was reported at Level Up near Hakkasan. Also reported was no free drink service to players. If this is true then you'll need to go to The D to get the full experience. Worth the trip.

Thanks guys. Sounds like The D would be better, but MGM will be just across the street.

What is so good about this game? Ive seen people waste hours on this game and I dont get it. The novelty wears off after about 3 races (drinks or no drinks).

To each their own. I have no idea how someone can spend hours playing VP or slots.
I'm a poker guy and will spend 8-10 hours on a table. I'm sure the VP and slot players walk by and shake their head:poker:

Thats the point, I can see everyone's fascination with so many different games inside the casino, regardless of how I feel about it. But this horse game baffles me. Im seriously asking what people like about it?

I've been playing Sigma since the early 90's in Biloxi. It has a magnetic appeal to us junkies as the 75-150 odds hit pretty darn often..its why I like it anyway, not to mention the superb drink service at The D. I've never hit a 200x race but did score one at 191x

I'm often a solo traveler but I can't tell you how often I've been drawn into a group's party on this game. The premise of rooting for mechanical horses is just so goofy that people open themselves up to saying goofy things. And then there's the free drinks while wagering a quarter per minute.

This! Maybe it depends on the other people at the table. We had this computer guy who was trying to drunkenly work out the "tricks" to the game. He was really funny, although I suspect he was being serious. Then my friends were wholly inappropriate, as usual. Add those goofy, rickety, plastic horses wobbling their way around as people scream at them as if their life depends on winning that 50-cents. Ahhhh... good times!

I read that it moved back out of level up to the floor. Someone there recently would have to confirm this.

    Go ask a slot technician.

    - Social community game aspect like Blackjack or Craps which is rare for a slot.

    - Long time between bet and resolution which means more action per betting.

    - If there is drink service you can get A LOT for your money. A roll of quarters bet one at a time would easily last an hour and probably longer with a win here and there.

    - You get to hoot and holler at horses going around a minitrack.

If your gambling is motivated by bet frequency and dollar volume then I could see how it would be boring but other than that I think it's pretty evident the appeal.

I'm a pretty low-roller (avg $1500 BR), but the quarter stakes are still too low to keep my attention.

However, I tend to travel with a handful of 'no-rollers,' and I find that they absolutely LOVE this game, and I get a contact high off of their energy when they win a dollar or two here and there.

That being said, I played it alone once and about died of boredom after five minutes.

You're not limited to playing a quarter per bet. There's--i think--16 combinations to wager on and if you want to drop $10 on four different combos the machine will take your quarters. I've dumped $10 on a few races when playing with house money:beer:. That said it's not for everyone but most people get a kick out of it especially when playing with a group:usa:

I recently saw the Sigma Derby machine on the floor in the area between the buffet and the cashier. That's a rough guess since I wasn't really looking for it.

Yeah, I heard it recently moved. I looked around Level Up in April and didn't find it. I didn't spend a lot of time looking for it though. I'm glad to see it's back on the floor though. I heard the free drink service stopped when it was near Level Up.
