Besides the 'no frills=low prices' one other thing to keep in mind is your flight getting bumped for any number of reasons and the larger airlines having more priority. By yourself quick, get-away... perhaps?¿?, but ya like pp said above

From my experience, you don't cancel Frontier. Frontier cancels you.

Our two experiences with Frontier have been great. On each of the four legs we arrived at our destination a half hour early.

I would have booked them again this year but flight times were awful.

I have flown Frontier many times over the last 15 years and can say I have had no problems. Flown in and out of Chicago, Denver, Austin, Dallas, and Vegas. Now the new planes have less comfortable seats and not sure what they call the fold down table thingy...other than that Always liked them.

    Im ok...whew
Ive only flown them a few times but fares are good and Ive had zero issues with them.
When friends ask me about them I tell them to give F9 a try

I had only booked Frontier coming back. Read to my bad things and took the refund and bought a ticket on Southwest for the return. Cost a bit more but I feel secure with them.

I have flown Frontier occasionally with no issues.
BUT I am over them after a recent incident. Booked Orlando for 6. $190 RT from KC, direct, hell of a deal (plus $60 luggage). We are teachers & it was our last school work day, no students. KC is about an hour further than OMA but for that savings its worth it.
I get email that they no longer have the direct flight, now it is 4 hours earlier, thru Denver, EIGHT hour layover & a red eye to Orlando--WTF??!! So I determine that there is an evening flight to Denver from Omaha--same price as KC-DEN leg. They REFUSE to change it--unless I pay $600 more. SERIOUSLY? I want nothing more than to cancel just to say FU, but its either double or triple the price for another airline or a 23 hour drive--ugh.
Well somehow I decide to check Allegiant out of Omaha--and I get same initial flight time DIRECT for about $50 more each. I don't love Allegiant, but we have flown them numerous times to Vegas with no issues so I will live with it.
BTW, Southwest air ROCKS--it is totally our carrier of choice. They blow every other carrier away. 2 bags fly free, no change fees, credit for lower prices or cancellations, companion pass & prices compare to major airlines (BEFORE their luggage fees). Unfortunately for 6, the price is near double so, nope.

Ive flown Frontier twice both times from St Louis to Vegas. I thought it wasnt too bad. Both times on new planes and quite a step up from my usual choice of Allegiant. If you need amenities and stuff though Frontier is not for you.
