"Dilemma" and "souvenir" have never been spelled "dilemna" or "souveneir."

Unless you're making a joke that just went over my head. :blah:

Dilemma is a 16th century word stemming from the Greek "di" and "lemma" roughly translating as "two premises," and souvenir is an 18th century word from the French "souvenir," meaning "to remember."

That's what I thought. That White Collar lasted multiple/many years. When I said,"Short lived," I meant shows that only lasted days to 2 years, not TV Shows that lasted 6 years.

Yes, While Collar had a good run. Perhaps the OP should define the parameters of this thread. I would assume that it's one or two seasons only.

I am the OP of this thread. I thought the shows I listed that lasted less than two years in my OP was a good indicator that I meant shows that lasted 2 years or less.

If White Collar qualifies then I might as well post Gunsmoke.

Arrested Development deserved more than 3 seasons in its original run even though I violated the two year or less rule.

That makes perfect sense to me although I just violated that rule by one year.

If it was ever a real show, I'd totally binge it!

No one will probably remember as the list of Fox cancellations are endless (see Peter's bit from Family Guy) but two I will always remember (and would love to get a copy on even a bootleg dvd) are

King of the Hill ran for 13 seasons. Not exactly 'short lived'.

I hope things are normal by then

Daria lasted like 5 years. And King Of The Hill lasted 13 Seasons like someone else pointed out. Maybe you meant to add these to my "Hit TV Shows that could have gotten at least one more Season," thread
    Lol.

1 season (only about 13 episodes each) and gone: Wonderfalls and Cupid (the original 1998 version).
I'm still waiting on a Cupid dvd release. Rob Thomas is money: Veronica Mars (should have gone more than 3 short seasons - 4th season was years later) and iZombie (actually went 5). And they even got the other Rob Thomas (singer) to do a cameo.

To a lesser quality degree: The Tick (with Patrick Warburton) and Greg the Bunny.

Action with Jay Mohr would have fared much better on a cable network (I think it was on Fox) that allowed obscenities and less censorship. It was a biting look at how Hollywood works (or doesn't work).

No regrets for me among all the shows people have named so far, but I was not able to watch much television between 1970 and 2000. Things were different in the days most of these shows aired. Choices were few. Many pilots never aired. Now that broadcast networks and their millions of mesmerized fans are stuck on fake reality shows and endless talent competitions, aka shouting contests, while cable expansion means that much more gets produced, a number of good programs cannot find audiences and die young.

Young me would've said Max Headroom and Tales of the Gold Monkey; two shows I absolutely loved and both only went 1 season.

Current me says Single Parents didn't get the run it deserved, only 2 seasons for a show that was consistently funny and had a good cast.

LA to Vegas was another show that didn't get the run it deserved and was canceled just as it was taking off (pun intended).

The Others was a decent supernatural mystery type TV show that ended on a 1st season cliffhanger, never to return.

The Neighbors was canceled at the end of its second season. The first was kind of terrible (A normal family moves into a neighborhood of aliens) but by the second season, it had settled into itself and was gaining traction when it was canceled.

Eugene Levy, Seth Green, and Sarah Silverman, plus a puppet that consider himself a Shakespearean actor. That's funny stuff, blah.

How were you scammed by the seller? Did the seller not give you the tapes you paid for? Did he give you another series different than what you ordered? What happened?

I will inevitably get into a show that is doomed. Most recently:
    Revolution
    Designated Survivor
    Limitless
    High Fidelity (Hulu)

And still waiting for them to catch up on Stranger Things, The Boys, and Mandalorian
