Southcoast Jan. 8 to 12. Excellent rooms, location not so great. Casino okay. Buffet okay. Weather was beautiful. Mid 60's and dry. Station Casinos are eliminating Double Bonus from alot of their VP Machines. Boulder Station hasn't changed for now. Still a great locals place. Had 2 bouts of Blackjack with Mikey at Sunset Station. Won the first round on a super fun 21 single deck. Got reamed on round 2 on a shoe deck. Mikey's a great dealer. Talks and jokes around and pulls for the players to win. Stopped in at The Tropicana for my birthday. Signed up for players card and got a free T shirt for birthday. Trop has coin in slots. Had some nickles in my pocket and threw 3 into a DB Triple play. Got a royal flush on the 3rd hand with only 1 nickle in. I was just screwing around and caught a royal short changed. Got 250 nickles for my trouble and the machine ran out with 75 cents left to give me. TITO still rules. My wife did catch a true royal and numerous times got 4 aces. She won $150 for the trip and I lost about $500. O'Sheas is no longer what it used to be. Didn't even recognize the place. All it looks like now is an extension of The Flamingo. Driving down Sahara towards the strip I see the twirly thing on top of The Stratosphere spining around. I don't think so! Nickle Blazing 7's at The STRAT let me down. Magical Marty(wild for dolphins) let me down. Cleopatra still likes me. Pai Gow didn't hurt too bad. Not a bad game when you need to slow down. Made some money on 50 cent roulette at Boulder Station. Did the usual downtown and strip runs. All in all a great trip and even came home to decent weather in Cleveland.
Insanity is a good ride if you can handle those that spin. It is crazy looking up at it from the street, though. Marty at TI wasn't generous to me at all, but I did ok on it over at Orleans. Seems your wife did well with VP. Aces are as rare to me as a Royal is... Sounds like a good trip, happy belated birthday. Great pic!
Sounds like a fine trip. Great picture. It really helps considering it is 20ish and cold here in the Northeast.
I love that view, one of the first views I ever got of Vegas. Sounds like Southcoast isn't much of an addition to the valley.
Marty, it was about 10 A.M. Wasn't real crowded the whole week. I think alot went for Christmas from what I read in other TR's. I figured I'd get a shot of The Trop in case it goes down. The guy in the golf cart told me not to take pictures of the building at Texas Station. Security I guess. Southcoast at night. Boulder Station.
I got a pic pretty similar to that around 1pm on Saturday! The airport was crazy-crowded Friday around 11:30pm (half-hour wait for a cab - the worst I've ever seen) but getting into any restaurant you wanted was a breeze and a lot of the casinos I saw were ghost towns. The only place where it was impossible to find a seat was at the bar (vp bar or otherwise) while the NFL playoffs were going on. Sorry we just missed each other Jimbucc! Thanks for writing up the report!
Regarding the first picture of the strip, wait a second while I re-zip my fly, uuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
