Just heard there was a fatal shooting on the strip last night near Hilton Grand http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/terrified-las-vegas-tourists-run-10372477
I found it in the LVRJ: https://www.reviewjournal.com/crime/homicides/1-dead-1-wounded-after-shooting-at-strip-resort-property/
----The two men were staying at the hotel, and others who know the men also are staying at the hotel but aren’t cooperating with police----- Tells you everything you need to know.
I liked the part about the first guy shooting and the second guy returning fire, it's good to be prepared!
Taken from the article. "The 38-storey Hilton, which has more than 700 rooms, is situated at the north end of the strip which is popular with tourists who would have been out in their thousands enjoying a Saturday night." Whoever wrote this has never been to Vegas obviously.
Exactly, the North end of the strip where the Hilton GVC is sketchy, surrounded by vacant lots and half built projects, in the area between Circus Circus and SLS. If the North ever gets developed they will be in a prime location, but that doesn't look likely to happen anytime soon.
This is true but the main customers are HGVC regulars, conventioneers and millenials who want to cram a bunch of people in a room and party. It's usually insulated from the neighborhood. I'm wondering if one of the shooters was a guest of if this is something that spilled into their valet.
I wasn't commenting on the customers or shooter, I was commenting on this part of the article "situated at the north end of the strip which is popular with tourists". The area North of Wynn and more so Circus Circus is a wasteland for tourists as there is nothing there, so not popular with tourists as the article states. Doesn't mean that there was nobody around, no, just not popular like you would see between Tropicanna and Flamingo.
I didnt dispute that. But even though some may perceive the area as sketchy, its not something that would define the Hilton or deter their ability to draw customers. Its not a popular area but the property itself is bustling.
