Last year, I made easy money on this machine. $1,500.

In June, I lost a ton on this machine.

Was I just lucky last year? Or did the game simply get harder?

Jimbo is right on. I've had the same experience on this. First time I played I couldn't lose, last couple trips I barely saw any points. But I've seen the same thing with the "real" dice too. I personally love the shoot-to-win game when I'm not feeling overly social or the tables are full and I don't feel like grinding up against a bunch of other people. Generally I'd rather have the feel of felt and chips and dice, but those games are great fun in the right mindset. I also find it easier to just kind of grind at the shoot-to-win and slow play a bit. At the table I tend to be a bit more aggressive.
