I managed to snag a double pass to Shark Reef yesterday. Just wondering if you have gone and feel like it's worth going. I'm not staying at Mandalay Bay, so bit of a trek to get there.
    Cheers!

Saying is it “worth it” is different from person to person. Think of it like this are you going here to just kill time have you ever been before or you want to try it out just to see.

If it’s your first time & you got time to kill sure go check it out but. Maybe you wanna think a lot using a premium award on something else.

It was worth it for free, I was there last week and enjoyed it. It's short, but combo it with the Titanic at Luxor and maybe lunch at one of the properties (which is what I did, using the MyVegas $20 credit at the pub in Luxor) and it's a fun few hours.

I think it's worth it - but I am a fan of sharks and marine life :)

Definitely worth it if you have kids - or a significant other that's into sealife.

I've gone 4 times, and enjoy it every time. It's informative and cool. Last time I saw a sea turtle!

I think if you have kids along, it is worth it for them. IMHO, if just adults going it is meh

It is neatly done, specially the large tank. However I couldn't help myself thinking..."that was it??"
Bit like the Bellagio Art Gallery: High hopes, but slightly underwhelming, if just in size.

It's not a huge exhibit, so most people won't spend more than an hour there. That said, I am not most people. :) If you think marine life and other exotic creatures are boring, you will not have a good time. I think it's a nice diversion away from the casino for a bit.

We went once (paid). It's kinda nice to just do something non casino-ish for a while. Like the Nuke Museum. Not something you'd do twice. And if you've got free admission, all the better.

Yep, it’s worth it, especially if you use MyVegas. at the end you get to pet the sting rays.

Solid suggestion! If you plan on going on the weekend, hit up Border Grill Brunch and then roll yourself over to the aquarium.

I went once on a myVegas reward, walked through the whole thing in about 10 minutes. Wouldn't pay to see it again, but for the bargain price of free it was OK, I guess.

I loved it, but I LOVE sharks.

FYI when I say loved it, this is someone who basically eats, plays slots, drinks and sleeps in Vegas.

I like opera back home, but in Vegas? I'm a total degen, it takes a very shiney toy to distract me from debauchery, but I loved the shark tank! Then again, I'm a sucker for sharks :)

PS I've hit the Newport aquarium in Oregon so thought I'd be disapointed with MB. They actually have a BIGGER tank with larger sharks, which was well worth it in my book. Some tanks you just see the little five footers....

In my opinion the reef isn't really worth the full admission price and it isn't worth going too far out of your way just for it since it isn't very big. If you get it comped or free through MyVegas then it can be an enjoyable way to spend a little bit of time if you are already going to be or want an excuse to be in Mandalay Bay. We like Mandalay bay and welcomed the excuse to go spend a day eating and playing there so a free trip to the reef was a worthwhile pleasant break from gambling. Although limited in size it was indeed interesting, fun and relaxing to see the marine habitats.

Along the same line as others. Free (me included) it was fine but a bit underwhelming. I enjoyed it but don't need to go back. If you are walking it is very much a "trek". I couldn't believe how far it felt once I got off the monorail.

I enjoyed it, but then again I have a 150 gallon saltwater reef aquarium in my house so I'm kinda into it more then the average Joe.

I'm betting you've never been then? As I recall there were other habitats and smaller aquariums in addition to the big one with the shark reef.

I was there years ago I liked it. It's not overly expensive, lots of families. I can't recall the exact habitats per say.
