GREGRIO
VIP Whale
Hi All...Greg here. I'm new and think I'll hang out for a while. I do most of my posting over at LVA and CasinoHype.
No need for a blow-by-blow...just some highlights.
I go for shows first, gambling second.
This TR is a bit old now, but new to you, so here goes...
ZZ TOP: If you're a fan, you were in heaven. It was the last two nights of the tour and they were ready to PARTY!
Friends, Wifes and gilfriends led 'toasts' and the Tequilla flowed on stage and off.
Those "litt'l 'ol boys" from Texas sounded GREAT and the LVHilton was ROCKIN'!!!
I stayed there that night...my room at a Holiday Inn Express a couple weeks before was nicer.
ARETHA FRANKLIN: The "Queen of Soul" started 20min. late! After a lengthy medley of her hits from the band (full horn section and back-up singers) she satisfied her fans with just her presence...and there was lots of presence, she's very heavy now.
Beautiful gold gown, short hair, lots of sweat and that...VOICE!
The small intimate 'House of Blues' was packed.
I had a great Cajun Meatloaf dinner there afterwords.
WE WILL ROCK YOU: For QUEEN fans, this is a great fun show. Excellent sound and lighting...lots of fresh, very cool stage sets and costumes. The male and female lead charactors are talented and fun with great voices!
The large cast is a rainbow of all ages...ethnically, enthusiastically, Rock 'n Roll.
The "Bohemian Rhapsody" ending has much of the same energy Mamma Mia does. FREDDY WOULD LIKE IT
VERY GOOD (as always) REPEAT SHOWS:
DREAM KING, MYSTERE, BLUE MAN GROUP, MAMMA MIA
FOLIES BERGERE: What a nice surprise! I haven't seen this show in years...it's always been JUBILEE for me. the stage isn't quite as large as Bally's production, but certainly does the job in presenting that old Las Vegas variety extravaganza!
Great sets and costumes. wonderful variety and
beautiful breasts...(late show)
I now have a newly enlightened opinion of FOLIES.
Comparing it to JUBILEE is like MYSTERE and "O"...both are great shows, some folks prefer one, some the other.
I was at the RIO for four nights. I hadn't had dinner at the VooDoo Cafe in a while, so got a window seat at sunset and had a great Salmon dinner.
Sat-Sun I stayed at Gold Coast. Great little room and Prime Rib dinner in the Cortez Room.
They gave me two future free nights as did the RIO, so my December trip is ON THEM!
GAMING was so-so.
RIO, Gold Coast, PALMS, Orleans, LVHilton, were all pretty tight.
Played lots of new slots and VP.
Out of my $2,000. fun money, I came home with $800. for an 8 day trip.
