    My Trip Report

A short reveiw of my recent jaunt:

The trip started off w/ a 12 hr delay in Flint. BA miles effed up my American Air ticket, when boarding pass was printed it wanted a paper tkt attached to be valid. My e tkt was issued wrong and it led to my not getting out till 625 pm when I was supposed to fly at 620am. :grrr: :grrr:

Spend 12 hrs in Flint will ya!! My sister in law lives close but wasn’t around till later in the day

Longer ORD connection on top of an ORD delay as well. Got to Alamo car at 1145 pm...to the hotel at 1230 am. Day one – gone!! What do you expect when you arrive 14 hours or so late. I was supposed to land at LAS at 920 am on Tuesday...

I was P.O'd to say the least. Missed the Tues golf.

Played Primm Desert w/ Ken on Wed.
    Great desert course.

Stayed 2 nites at South Point and 2 at LVH. South Point a great place. I'll return. LVH good as usual. I didn't win a lot, didn't lose a lot either really. All in all a nice break, I was gonna play some more golf, but it was hot out and just wandering and using the Spa credits and such I had, I just relaxed. I saw 3 shows though, which was a different LV thing for me. Using that Ticketmaster deal.

    Zumanity @ NY NY
    LOVE @ Mirage
    Mamma Mia @ MB

A nice change, really good shows - all 3

GregRio would be proud of me.

I tallied up 36 bucks in comp cash payback at LVH so that should keep the mail coming.

Spent a few hrs at Jackie’s as well. Didn't get under the canopy though.

Golf is the focus now though. I tried to get a last minute tee time one day using the Stand By golf thingy that Ken told me about, but kept getting a message center and to leave name and number, I didn't have a cell so I didn't want to hang around the room waiting for a call. Anyway, a lot of golf courses close to over-seed at this time of the year.

Damn airline effed up the whole first day though. I was told to write a letter to the BA Executive club air miles program and bitch, by a girl at the BA call center. Apparently the Internet air miles booking engine w/ BA partner flights has / had some issues. I wasn’t the only one who got delayed according to the girl I spoke with.

I might get all my miles back and a little something for the delay and added costs. We'll see.....

Solo trips are OK - it gives you a bit of time to re-charge and do what you want to do.

I had a few blasphemous Martinis on Ice at the Shimmer Bar, one night as well. A great band playing.

Was propped by a lady-of-the-evening-hottie one night too. I smiled and said
"I have two young boys at home and I’m married. If I was single though, I’d be all over you."....... She smiled and kinda blushed and said "Thanks very much" -within 2 minutes she was on to the next quest....LOL

Had some decent eats as well. 888 Noodle bar at LVH is outstanding
New SuperBook Deli is good as well.

South Point buffet OK as is the South Point Coronado Coffee Shop.

Saw a Fountain show as well. I wandered thru Bill’s Car Wash and Rhinoplasty as well as Bally’s. Still classy at Bally’s even though the Evil Empire is in charge. Did a walk thru PH too.

It's a great place, Las Vegas.

My bride and a lot of others just don't get it....there is just so much to do if you put your mind to it...or can stay out of the casino. I'll continue to "get the business" when I go, but I don't care what any of them think. I know my bride would like the break, but she just worries too much about who will look after the kids and such....it can be arranged if one really wanted to make a vacation plan work.

Anyway, from here on in, if I can swing it, an LV trip will be on the roster once a year....

BTW - I have a coupon (FunBook) from South Point w/ some decent eats discounts and spa stuff, etc still in it. free buffet, free wine/ with dinner 20 % off Don Vito's 20 % disc at the Spa, etc, etc.

If anybody is going to South Point prior to Dec 31, send a PM. First come first served. I'll get it in the mail ASAP.

Sorry about the delays Ross. Always puts a damper on the trip. Otherwise it sounded like you and Ken had a good time. Nice TR, for a canadian. :poke:

You're right, sometimes a few days away is all you need to recharge your batteries. There are plenty of things to do in Vegas that don't include gambling you just have to plan.

Did you write them? They really should do something about that; but, they are the airlines and customer service is not their priority.
