Just satellited into the seniors tournament at the WSOP.

3 day 1000 dollar entry tournament and I'm in for 25 dollars.

(Satellite cost 125 but you get 1000 in tournament chips and 100 dollars cash.)

Tomorrow will be a long day. 1 hour blinds x 10 levels means at least 10 hours play if I am to get through to day 2.

So finish my burger, bit of blackjack and off to bed.

Glad the air con is working as it was 110 degrees today and forecast to rise over the weekend and into next week.

Didn't make the cut. Out on day 2.
Raised 5bb's with Kc Kd, got a call flop came 4, 7, 8 two spades.
Pushed all in to get rid of any spade flush draw.
Get called, even though he would be left with less than 4K if beat.
    Turn comes 6c.
    River is 5h
    Board is now straight 4-8
He turns over A-9 of spades and I'm out.

Oh well always next year. Off to Red Rock canyon today just to get away from poker for a while.

Not the worst play by them, and actually a positive equity call after the flop hit with the dead money inside. You were about a 52% favorite.

Ballsy play for all of their chips though.

Oh well, better luck next time! Sounds like you still did pretty well in making it to day two.

    Good run.
As for the bust out hand, I would have played your hand and the V's the same way. Sometimes, it's just not in the cards.

    Unlucky good run.

The hand in question, if your opponent is calling a 5bb raise pre with A9s and flopping 2 overs,a flush draw and a back door straight draw there is no way he's folding. Regardless of weather he would be left with 4,000 if he lost.

Be interesting to know your thought process for opening 5x with KK.

Can't complain at playing a WSOP event for $25. Hope it was a great experience.

Opening for 5 bb with kids.

Over the last couple of hours most people had been folding at the four to eight bb level. So 5 was a mix up just to keep me from being too predictable. Last time I had a big hand (jj) I limped and won, trip jacks. Had also raised with nothing when dealer.

It was a great experience, I will certainly do it again.
