Seneca Allegheny and Seneca Niagara have implemented two annoying changes to their "comped" room policy. They have started a Resort fee and no outside alcoholic beverages allowed. This is no way to treat customers who have been with them for years. They want you to buy beer from them at over $4.00 a can.
Yes, this is cheaper than Vegas, but Salamanca and Niagara Falls do not have the same excitement level as Vegas.

How do you justify a resort fee when your hotel / casino is in a run down part of town; no pool; poor parking lot security and the surrounding area is basically a ghetto?

I've always accepted the resort fee in LV because of the pristine pools; nicely kept grounds, etc... Other then the casino / hotel - Niagara Falls USA is a ghost town.

(I live +- 15 minutes from it, so talking down is justified :) )

Resort or not, the fee is "justified" because that's where the market started going quite a while back. People need their gambling fix, their Hawaii fix, their whatever/wherever fix, and that's how capitalism works. And it would work in reverse if -- IF, so no chance -- consumers respond according to their ire.

Also how do they monitor you bringing alcohol in? Just don't drag a giant cooler in
