Stopped by there today for breakfast with the Mrs. - as she has the day off from school. With comps, breakfast was only $5 for both of us. Not a bad breakfast buffet.

Construction continues at an amazing pace.

Vibe: That's probably the earliest we've been to the casino - 09:00. Parking is a non-issue and the place is deserted. Such a huge difference...but the same demographic. The only tables open are the ones still carrying players from - what looks to me - like last night. It's really odd to see all these lights and sounds and no humans around once you get used to seeing it on Friday or Saturday nights. Almost ghostly.

Dining: Apparently they're moving "Rise" to the area where "Gray Salt" was located. Not sure what they'll do with the current "Rise" footprint, but I'd imagine just drop in more gaming. The Fresh Harvest breakfast buffet is there only until the new 'Rise' reopens. It looks like they have extended the other dining options to be available overnight as well (used to only be the food court).

Gaming: And in keeping with the spirit of gaming with the tribe: Bankroll in @ $100, bankroll out @ $50. 'Cause that's just the right thing to do.

Guitar is definitely big in that town, dean! :D

Sounds like the Mrs. is enjoying her day off!
Thanks for the continued SHR updates!

We went down to HR yesterday arriving about noon. They had their sweepstake drawings going on and our plan was to just stay until about 4:00 in order to avoid the crowds that always show up for these events. I dropped my wife off at the center casino door and proceeded on to the Winner’s Way parking garage. I came off the moving sidewalk to find the temporary wall that was constructed in front of the escalators gone and replaced by construction curtains. I had to peek through them of course. The escalators are gone, replaced by another continuing ornate walkway that must go the width of the north casino. Beyond that, I could see a few step ups entering the new casino addition. That is going to be one long walk into the casino. I also saw a wide opening into this new walkway from the Lucky Street garage. I had envisioned the entry into HR from these two north garages would be a ground level walkway hugging the north wall of the north casino. It appears the entry from both garages will be a second level walkway just constructed in front of the north casino. I had been told numerous times that the entire north casino would be demolished to give way for the new hotel tower and pool area. If you look at the rendition of the new area, the old Rise restaurant will be the deep end of the pool and the new hotel tower will go nearly to the front of the demolished north casino. By this time, they must be building a new entry into the lobby and center casino for all three of the garages and the new casino but nothing is evident from the lobby. It must be taking shape in what was the outdoor valet area. The next thing to go will be the lobby bar which will be completely reshaped.

Otherwise, the casino wasn’t even half full by midafternoon. Perhaps this was because of the Easter weekend or maybe it’s a sign of things to come. Our favorite casino time has always been early mornings when the place is empty but it doesn't work at HR. Those dogs just won't hunt until mid afternoon!

What! This is an outrage! The Mrs and I have spent myriad hours parked there, sipping cocktails, watching the great unwashed parade in full of hopes and dreams and parade out, downtrodden having fallen victim to the tribe's philosophy "Taking back this land, one quarter at a time". Aaarrrgghhh! They can't remove my entertainment! This will not stand!

Unless they replace it with something better...so...there's that.
