Welp, here we go back to the promised land. My first trip to Vegas was in 2012 for my bachelor's party, and I've been hooked ever since. Had a 2 year hiatus when we had our 2nd kid and when we moved from NYC to DC, but picked it back up last March and now ready to make my first NFL playoffs trip. It helps that my best friend from high school now lives in Vegas, and this weekend is his birthday. This will be my 8th trip overall. My brother in law will also be making the trip. I'm comped at PH and he's comped at Aria. We used to room together on our Vegas trips but since we both had comps and he snores like an angry wolverine we decided it would be best to get our own rooms this time around. Already scored the first win if the trip with my flight... had originally booked my arriving flight on points, but had to make a connection. Was worth it when I bought it cause, hey, free flight. But as I got closer the idea of transferring in Chicago seemed like less and less of an appealing idea. American had changed my connecting flight time an hour later than when I bought the tickets, so I took a shot and gave them a call to see if I could instead be placed on the only direct flight out of DCA. And score - they did and didn't charge me for the switch. So now I have a direct flight tomorrow morning at 7:59 am out of DCA - getting in 5 hours earlier than originally planned. Going to try to check in around 11 and will be my first time trying for a $20 trick upgrade. Why not, right? Can't win if you don't try! Will try to update as often as I can. More pics than words at times, especially as the booze flows. Looking forward to a weekend of $15 blackjack, cheep booze and football. Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man, and I believe in the promised land. See you in the AM.
