That's right I forgot about that! I assume in this situation tips are shared? Cause remember only tipping when drink came, unless I violated protocol...

My family and I are going to love this when we go Dec 23rd to Rio. I love quick service and not having to wait long. Speaking of the LINQ, in May when I went, they had the ipad too and service was really quick.

Why cant downtown vegas have this service? Took forever for me to get my drinks when we visit there memorial weekend on the sunday night. Flamingo from what I remembered in May did not have it, but service still did not take long.

Speaking of drinks....what is the rule for glass drinks at the Rio and walking between Rio, Gold Coast, and Palms? Also how about bringing down drinks from the room? I know downtown you have to have a plastic cup now and I heard uptown is going to enforce that too if they have not already. When I have been to Vegas, I have only stayed off the strip at the eastside cannery and downtown vegas at the golden nugget where my family and I were allowed to bring drinks down from the room (no one said anything).

My guess is that if you don't rub someone's face in it, they don't really care where the drinks came from.

We've stayed at the Rio many times and will be there for NYE. Halloween we stayed at Paris which was very nice but I was solo the first day and spent it back at the Rio. Ended up with 6 tax forms and a great start for the trip. I don't play craps much anymore but on a trip a few months ago we played on a lark and walked away with two yellow chips.

My favorite part is the bartenders know us and usually plant a drink in front of me by the time I get my VP machine loaded up with card and cash. Hi limit is the same way, I've had security guards stop and chat because they recognize me from previous trips. I've never had a rude experience from any of the staff but then again I am a positive guy and probably didn't notice.

I like Pho da Nang for Pho Gai and their grilled pork dish. More pricey than my hometown but very good. The indian restaurant is expensive but we really liked the food there. The Chinese restaurant is good but the staff are not the friendliest so we haven't been in a few trips.

Maybe a negative for some but I like the way the casino is all spread out. We feel like we are in different places from the Masquerade Bar end to the Sports Bar area. Agree the payouts are not great but of all the Royals and premium quads I've had, probably 90% have need on these kind of machines.

I tried tipping the guy with the ipad yesterday when ordering my drink and he said they can't accept tips....just tip the waitress who brings the drink.

No problem at all bringing down drinks from the room. But the walks to GC and the Palms are far enough that you probably don't want to bring one with you..A bottle of water yes anything else I'd just get a fresh one at the GC.

Visited the Rio twice, never stayed there and its been several years, as is typical of a Cet casino, I could not win a dime on a slot. yes the waitresses were hot looking in the outfits

I have stayed at every CET property over the years and I believe they all have their good/bad points. I find that the hotel I choose on any particular visit ends up being somewhat based on what particular game I'm in the mood to play. For the record, I'm not much of a slot player. Right now, I'm on a bit of a baccarat thing, so Rio makes sense since they have lots of mini/midi bacc tables that work with my budget. Also, if I need a change of scenery, I just wander over to Gold Coast or Palms. Sometimes, I'll take a break from baccarat and play DD BJ. For that, I generally go to the Palms where the rules are more favorable than Rio. Same with video poker. And when I need a dose of the strip, the free shuttle runs regularly and only takes about 10 minutes.

No, the Rio is not Caesars Palace but even for free, CP is not my hotel of choice. I like the Jubilee rooms at Ballys, and like their $25 shoe blackjack in the high limit area but they only have 1 or 2 baccarat tables. Plus I prefer the food options at Rio.

Rio rooms are spacious, you get a fridge, a safe and each room has a keurig coffee maker. Coffee pods are free for Diamond and 7*, or just bring your own. Their pool area is also nice. Cocktail service has been exceptional this trip (same with maid service). Wow, reading this over makes me sound like some advertisement for the Rio (haha!). Anyway, just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I have two rooms booked for my trip. My room was complimentary and my brother's room I'm paying for with Reward Credits. They're both Classic Kings. What are the odds that I can get upgraded to a Samba King with Strip View if I do the $20 trick?

If your better half likes the Rio buffet, turn him on to the Palms instead. With players card, its about a 1/3 of the cost. I've done both several times and though Rio is good, for the price, its Palms all the way.
