Searchlight?

That's what I heard...keep to the speed limit when going through Searchlight on your way to Laughlin.

We went through in September on our way to Laughlin and that's all I remember my dad saying was watch your speed and and Harry Reid was born there. I don't remember seeing a casino as we drove through.

I stopped there about two years ago to get my tweezers from my purse. I had one eyebrow hair that was annoying the hell out of me!!
After it was gone, I put away my tweezers and I was on the road again.

That's all I can tell you about Searchlight.
 
Stopped a couple of times at Searchlight Terribles. They have a nice little market shop there with fresh fruit, etc. The Searchlight Nugget Casino used to have 10 cent coffee.

It was bought out by Terribles in the last year or so, I think that deal is gone.

You mean no one has stopped at that store with the big beef jerky sign?

we stop in Searchlight almost every time we're on our way to or from Vegas. They have a McD's, couple of gas stations etc. Speed trap BIG TIME so obey the speed limit.
we even tried a bit of slot play at Terrible's. If you play and want to cash out, the bartender has to cash your ticket. every.single.time.
(it was like that a year ago, not sure if it's improved)
 
Been through everytime I've gone to Laughlin, only stopped once. Coming back one trip we stopped out of curiosity and for a beer. Small bar, small slot casino and convenience store. I think it had a small fast food outlet also. Can't remember if it was MacD's BBKing or what. Not much reason to stop there. A little closer to LV is Railroad Pass if you want a casino and coffee shop.

Stopped there on our way back to Vegas from Laughlin back in the spring of 2016 at Terrible's which is a Casino/Gas Station/Convenience Store. Played video poker there for awhile and yes had to cash out with the bartender. I do remember seeing a car pulled over by police earlier on my way to Laughlin and traffic was all doing UNDER the speed limit throughout town.
 
We stopped in Searchlight on our way to Laughlin to use the restrooms. I said to my husband let me just have a little play on VP . First hand dealt me four aces with a kicker for 500 dollars , the bar person paid me . I said "may as well play the one next to it " fourth deal three aces, hit the button for the fourth ace, no kicker though ! Then the lady behind the bar said that I have to spin a wheel because I got four of a kind, I got another 60 dollars plus six beers. I could have had six bottles of water or six Bud beer.lol My husband and I could not stop laughing, the lady behind the bar looked really pissed off,I think it was my London accent and the fact I hit two lots of Aces in five minutes. This was in 2012.
 
Probably 7 or 8 years ago the Cajon Pass was closed between San Bernardino & Victorville because it was snowed in (on I-15 on the way North to Vegas). My wife & I had flown into Vegas & later in the week we had driven down to LA to visit family. So I-15 was closed for our drive back to Vegas. We had to drive out I-10 and then took 95 North through Searchlight. When we got to Searchlight it started to snow there and we stopped just long enough to use the bathrooms at Terrible's in Searchlight. Snowed for maybe 10 more miles on the downgrade toward Vegas on 95 and then finally stopped. Flew out of Vegas the next morning. Took over 8 hours to drive to Vegas from Ontario CA that trip (rather the the usual 4 hours). The day after we left Vegas, McCarran airport was closed because of snow (they didn't have enough de-icers to get aircraft out of there).
