Stayed Saturday night at the DTG and can put to rest the rules they now have. All DD games are now 6/5 except the high limit room which on this night was $50 min
with usually just one player. The shoe games were 6 decks deep and table stakes of $5 and $10. They were still 3/2 BJ payout. They did also have 2 BJ
tables set up outside till around 10 PM which were shoe games. At night after 12 they only had one shoe game going. They had some other weird games going
( BJ with side bets like war games) BTW the crap game going was a $5 min game

Side note: I walked up to Fremont casino and they also had 6/5 DD games, even at $25 level.

Sad, sad night indeed. Next weekend I am staying back at DTG and plan on jumping around in search of where the good DD 6/5 game is left and will report next sunday.

Definitely a trend in the making. Just too many BJ players who will play any weird game the casino offer as long as a free drink comes. It looks more and more when I am in town I will just play station casino's and other locals casino's where as of last week Sante Fe still had a $25 DD 3/2 game

Thanks Tom. Just out of curiosity (not that I'll ever play it), but what was the table min on the 6/5 DD game on the main floor at DTG?

So, repeat confirmation about their two deck games.
Downtown casinos STILL offering 3:2 two deck for $25 or less, (all have it for under $25 as well):
    El Cortez
    Fremont
    MSS
    Nugget
    Golden Gate
    Plaza
    LVC
    Cal
    4-Queens
...so, everyone except DTG, theD & Binion's.
    Just to be clear!

The 6/5 BJ games with DD had 5 and 10 min bets

Like I said next week I will check out more DT casino's and see what is offered. But as saw the Fremont had brought in dd with 6/5 bj so it seems you better check before sitting down.

    fill you in next week

    WHOA!!!
The Fremont? A downtown Boyd casino?
I find that impossible to believe.
If they changed it at the Fremont, they would have changed it for MSS & the Cal as well.
Boyd (downtown) has always been two-deck, pitch, H17, no DAS.
And that's what they were as late as Saturday, 2-28-15, when I played at a $5 3:2 two-deck pitch game at the Fremont.

My thoughts exactly. Boyd's now having 6/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will check out cal and mss this weekend. Now the shoe game I played was 3/2.
The 6/5 table I saw was even $25 min. I talked to a pit critter there and said well all the strip is going 6/5 or continuous shufflers.
It will be interesting when I take a hard tour of DT and see what I all find. Seems like with increase in DT crowds the casino's
decided to change games since many people don't care if it is 6/5 or 3/2. Many people plan to loose anyway.

But want to confirm , YES it was at the Fremont casino where I saw it. Now they may have some DD 3/2 games also, I didn't walk the whole
floor and it was after 1 AM so many were closed or closing down. But I will know for sure next Sunday

To keep this all in perspective. I am a VP player and pay close attention to pay tables. Lately, the only time I play BJ is when I am entertaining friends or relatives downtown. Yes, I know it is blasphemy, but if we can all sit down at a table together and play a game, I don't really care if it is 3/2 or 6/5 and I'm sure most tourists don't either.

If BJ was my main game, then I would search out the best, but for a couple of hours of sitting with friends, I don't really care and can take 6/5.

Now if they f*ck with 9/6, or even 9/5 DDB, I'd be pissed!

If I remember correctly from my August trip, Fremont, CAL, and MSS did each have a 6:5 BJ table. However, they were on their single deck tables. I remember keeping an eye on the single deck 6;5 table at the CAL (as that is where we stay and play). We never ever saw anyone play at that consistently empty table. I think the usual party groups on FSE don't venture towards the CAL or MSS; therefore, the more serious players are there that avoid the 6:5 game.

Yep...single-deck 6:5 has taken over everywhere (except for the El Co)....been that way for years now...
    I have never seen a two-deck 6:5 game at any Boyd property...ever.
    I did notice that 4-Queens had an empty $5 two-deck 6:5 table...and a reasonably busy $10 two-deck 3:2 table.
Other than DTG & Binion's, I don't think anyone else (downtown) has put 6:5 two-deck games on their floor as the only two-deck games.
...and it shocks me immensely that Boyd would even permit one on their property...
If this turns out to be true, I may never play at a downtown Boyd casino again...ever.
Plaza/LVC & the ElCo (along with the Golden Gate's $15 "high limit" game) may be the only downtown two-deck blackjack that will remain playable.

I really hope you're mistaken, tom.

We pretty much live at the CAL and play between their and MSS. We would never ever would play 6:5 and in August all their double deck tables were 3:2. (Even with our alcohol intake, we would have noticed.)

Every time I was in there - day and night - from Tuesday through Friday night, the double-deck game (a 3:2 shoe, H17, DAS permitted) was $15, as was the 6-deck shoe.
I'm thinking they may have lowered it permanently.
I played it twice, both times it was only me & my buddy at the table...perhaps others are intimidated by the separate room...I'm not sure.

MSS and Cal may not have necessarily changed yet. Fremont has crap bartop VP, which I was also shocked by. 6/5 Bonus (96.87%) is the best at Fremont, but MSS offers 9/6 Jacks (99.54%) at Boar's Head. So certain behaviors aren't chainwide. But the fact that Fremont has bothered to make some tables 6 to 5 is concerning to say the least.

No need to, 9/6 is already fucked with, and 9/5 is especially fucked with (You do know DDB is supposed to be 10/6, right?)

As I've said before I'm happy with 98.98% return on DDB. 9/5 comes into play because I enjoy MSS and put up with a poorer table.
