    Some slot porn...

I’m down already for the trip, but I never come here expecting to win. I do have some of my daily allotted amount left, so I say that’s a win.

This was my husband’s first machine to sit down at. I think he said he ended the night down about $65.

Wheel of fortune wasn’t sharing any fortunes tonight. It threw out little hits from time to time but was mostly tight.

Spy vs Spy is one of my favorite games to play. I played for over an hour and had a couple decent wins. Penny slot. $2.50 max bet.

Another WOF. Overall a tight machine also.

I completely agree!! The groups of 5-6+ were by far the most annoying. I suspect it will get worse this weekend.

Standard Luxury King Suite - no strip view. To upgrade to strip view would have been $40/nt and we’re usually only in the room to sleep so I passed on the strip view.

The mini bar is in the cabinet on the left of the picture below. Fully stocked along with a variety of snacks and bottles of water on top of the cabinet. The front desk clerk reminded me to “be careful with the minibar.” Of course, I knew this from my first ever trip out here when I simply rotated a bottle of Fiji water around because it was crooked. The sensors are extremely sensitive. We paid $7 for that bottle of water and didn’t even drink it. Now, we don’t go near that cabinet.

Bathroom. Plenty of toiletries. Two bars of soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They also still provide the amenities box with a shower cap, ponytail holder, nail file, cotton round and q-tips, and a small sewing kit.

Other than the rooftops below, the view isn’t awful. We can see the Westgate, the Wynn and golf course, some of the convention center, and the MSG Sphere construction.

Two masks, 2 pair of cheap plastic gloves, a bottle of hand sanitizer, and a pouch of sanitizing wipes. There are hand sanitizer dispensers all around the casino floors, but I didn’t see anyone use them but us. IIRC, they replenish the masks and gloves daily but not the wipes and Germ X.

The hallway heading to the elevators from our room. We’re on the 27th floor.

I’m not sure I’m about housekeeping yet, but I assume they’re still doing it. For the most part, it’s business as usual here.

    Last post from day 1!

Dinner last night was at Grimaldi’s. They weren’t very busy when we first got there but I noticed they were busier by the time we left.

The Don - meatballs, sausage, pepperoni and I think ham. This was hubs’ choice. He ate all but one slice of the 12” pie.

Quattro Fromaggi - I forget three of the cheeses, but I know Gorgonzola was one. I ate the 3 smallest slices.

And some random shots of the casino floor - Palazzo side. It was pretty dead. There wasn’t much selection on this side and a lot of the machines were turned off so that left even fewer options.

Pretty empty... I suspect it will pick up tonight since they’ll be accepting guests for the weekend.

There were maybe 3 tables open on the Palazzo side. Lowest minimums I saw was $15.

And the Venetian side. It was much busier. That’s not evident in the photo, but the more we wandered, the more people we saw.

There was no plexiglass at any tables. The dealers were wearing surgical masks and clear face shields over that. I didn’t see more than 3 people at any table. Same $15 minimums on this side as well.

No plexiglass at Harrah’s either. Again, $15 minimums. The bar with VP tops right behind the tables was dark and all stools had been removed.

At least the Greenbucks were wearing their masks properly.

On our walk back to the Venetian last night, we noticed much less mask compliance, but people were mostly keeping their distance.

    Some general observations from V/P:

    1. Tight machines
    2. Rough looking crowd overall
    3. Very few stores open in the Grand Canal Shops. Alex & Ani, illy, the annoying people running you down to offer you a sample and coax you into their stores, the time share people, and a souvenir shop we’re open along with a few others, but I didn’t notice any of the big name stores besides Coach being open. Oh, and Starbucks was open.
    4. A fair amount of restaurants were open but all were considerably less than half full. My guess is the “trashy” folk weren’t splurging for Delmonico since they had already spent their cash on their scooter rental.

    That’s all I’ve got for day 1.

    Day 2:

I’ve been up for almost 2 hours. After all, it is 0839 “home time.”

Hubs is still asleep. Seems he forgot about home time pretty quick this trip.

Breakfast will be Grand Lux Cafe then I think we’re going to check out some hobby train store hubs has found in his many Google searches.

We have dinner reservations at MAG tonight but the day is pretty open other than the hobby train store.

Will hopefully have more slot pictures and definitely will have food pictures to share.

Absolutely love Grimaldi’s! Can’t beat the rooms there, and nice to see things are looking good there. Looking forward to more updates, it’s time to win lots!

I love it also. I ate there solo once before on one of our previous trips, so this was hubs first time. He’s hard to please - a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur - and was very satisfied with The Don!

I’m not sure if it still exists, but the free birthday pizza was the best. That’s how I got pulled in on my sons b-day, and we loved it so much we got another one for the room!

Nice! I didn’t notice anything about free pizza. We talked about bringing the leftovers to the room but no fridge means a stinky room from the Gorgonzola, so we left it behind.

Wow must be tough to enjoy yourself with all the "trashy" folks everywhere. Sure puts a damper on things.

Wow I was just thinking about that Spy vs Spy game, wondering if it was still around. Room looks great!

It’s still at Venetian. I couldn’t tell you exactly where, but the location hasn’t changed since 2017 when I last played it. It’s situated right along one of the walkways in the casino.

I always end up leaving all my money and any wins in the machine, but that’s okay. I think for me part of the allure of the machines is the graphics and music. I also like that I have always been able to make $40 last for an hour or two in that machine.

    Breakfast!!!

Chicken and waffles. We shared it still left two chicken fingers on the plate.

Early morning shenanigans began with a trip to MGM for some Cherries Jubilee action I’m sad to report it was all take and no give for my husband. I won $50 on one spin but that’s all the love I got. No pictures from that play.

The lobby was dead, which is mostly expected at 9am.

I did have some good luck on a 3 credit max bet WOF. I ended up giving most of it back but I did cash out at $148.

After hubs got mad because the Cherries took $200 from him very quickly, we wandered over to NYNY and gave them more money. I also used a $25 myKONAMI Free Play reward. I can confirm that you do NOT have to use this on just myKONAMI branded slots. I blew all of it on some penny machine. You basically use it like standard free play - no branded machines like SITC or WOF or any other big name slot.

Heading back to our car at MGM we got into a large crowd that was checking out and headed to their vehicles. Mass exodus is a good way to describe it.

Lots of stuff closed at MGM - including Fat Tuesday’s. The only things open in the Underground were Subway, Reviv (the two girls working there were unmasked), and a souvenir shop.

At NYNY the Hershey store, Starbucks, and Swatch were open, but not much else.

Ugh I was afraid of that. I always enjoy a StupidIdiotic visit but that store is so packed with merch it would be hard to open safely. Oh well, fortunately I’m pretty good at wasting money in Vegas.

    Nice reporting

After visiting the hobby train store, we headed back toward the strip and hubs swears he saw Count from Count’s Kustoms cruising behind us in a 70s Lincoln. I didn’t really get a good look at the driver, but he insisted I snap a picture, so I thought I’d share the pretty terrible picture I got...

We decided on In n Out for lunch and decided to hit up the Dean Martin Drive location. Couldn’t get in the parking lot. I was afraid that might happen so we drove over to the Linq parking lot off Koval behind the High Roller and meandered through there to that In n Out.

It was pretty dead on that end of the promenade but as we got further toward the strip end, it was a lot busier - and hotter than blue blazes.

The line for In n Out began outside and a security guy would call groups in periodically. They were very organized once inside, but there was no clear direction outside since the security guy was standing inside the doors and when you’d get up to them, he’d open the door and holler, “We have a line,” and point off to the side. No big deal. Our wait was very short. Lunch was delicious as always.

After lunch we ventured into Linq and I ran a $20 through one machine without a single win, so we walked across to Flamingo where I had better luck playing Aftershock. We love these machines for the music played during the bonus rounds.

The first bonus during the Aftershock feature was a sad 21 credits but then I hit this one...

After winning 208 credits, I played it down to $44 and cashed out with $4 dollars more than I put into the machine.

Money lost to this point: $460

I don’t mind the losses as long as I get some decent playing time. That’s been hit or miss, but there’s still tonight and all day tomorrow to play.

Did I mention it’s hot here?

We decided to head back to Venetian for a quick nap before dinner and of all the properties we’ve been to, they’re the only ones doing thermal scanning. Hubs joked that they’d probably stop us because we had just come from a walk around the Linq Promenade and a hot parking deck.

As soon as I turned the corner, a lady with security said, “Ma’am, I’m gonna need to check your temperature.” She aimed the no touch temperature scanner at my forehead and almost immediately said, “You’re good.”

I think someone may have mentioned on the board what happens when it’s 100+ degrees outside and you return to the hotel hot. Well, now I know. I didn’t even feel hot. Not sure what the thermal scanner showed, but it flagged me!

    Dinner coming up at MAG.

Nice hit now you get to start over. Love Grimaldi’s and the Don is always my choice. Still can’t believe you get a free pizza for your birthday. Hope to see a nice WOF hit.
