My group stays at the CAL and we spread our play equally between the CAL and MSS. Our last trip, we came to the conclusion that we preferred the staff at MSS over the CAL. No matter when MSS does open, I feel so bad for our extended family at both places. Obviously, the CAL staff are not all working yet. I would expect when MSS does reopen, we will see many new faces and miss many employees who have found employment elsewhere. Sad for all of them.

It seems that every time I make casino friends, I mean the kind you might spend time with away from the casinos, they end up retiring, dying, or otherwise disappearing. I'll be glad just to recognize some of the dealers, bartenders, and cocktail waitresses whenever I get to go back, particularly at MSS.

Honestly (although I can think of few suggestions otherwise) I wonder how many of the old guard will return as they have been out of work since March and without the additional federal aid for unemployment. So a big gap in living wage vs $’s provided unless tightly budgeted.
Their plight is weak as IF an opening in their line of work shows, there are so many more applicants seeking work comparatively speaking.
We can only hope for the best.

This is one time when the Culinary Union could really step up for their members. I believe Boyd properties are union.

I miss my dream team crap dealers, Kevin and Grant, as well as that one specific craps table I've spent so many hours on, though they would always say, whichever table they were dealing was the "Main Game"

My favorite 2 dealers, the only reason I changed my place to shoot plus all my friends like play when they come in town from Oahu.. Have anyone seen them in different Casino ??

    Aloha

We had reservations at The Main Street through Vacations Hawai’i over Christmas. They called this week and transferred us to 1/5/21. Promises from Vacations Hawai’i to REALLY starting flying on 12/29. Fingers crossed for the Main Street!

Wherever those 2 dealers end up, that casino is better for it. Just hoping these displaced workers find employment somewhere, but it would be wonderful if they were offered back their jobs once MSS opens up.

The non-union employees are being given the "opportunity" to reapply for their jobs. But starting over on seniority etc.

If they can keep the JoB 9/6 at Boar's Head, I'm willing to lose the cards.

Those cards. I tipped very much above board for the dinner comp with no pain because you got 20 a day (as a couple) at least so it was paying it forward. If I ever got a 5$ card I forfeited to Virginia as that would be good karma.. maybe.

I spent last Sunday and Monday at The Cal.
Clusterfluck everywhere, all roads around The Call had construction cones/roads blocks and Beep beep beep all night long. I canceled my Cal location in 3 week, and booked Orleans instead.

Geez I hope not, but I'd say it's a pretty good chance.

That would suck. I never had a chance to go to MSS and the scratchers were the main reason I wanted to check it out.

On Boyd's Quarterly Call they confirmed this timeline:

Boyd, which operates 29 gaming properties in 19 states, still has three of its Las Vegas-area casinos closed – Main Street Station downtown, the Eastside Cannery along the Boulder Highway, and the small Eldorado in Henderson. Smith said he didn’t expect any of the three properties to reopen until sometime in 2021.
