I’ve heard a couple of vegas regulars that CET/ Eldorado is doing away with their players club. They aren’t currently teaching cashiers how to perform players club function. Is it true?

Combining it with the cage or something would make more sense.

I've heard Vegas regulars tell me you win more if you don't play with a card.

I've heard Vegas regulars tell me you win more if you do play with a card.

I've heard Vegas regulars tell me they tighten up all the machines on busy weekends.

I've heard Vegas regulars tell me they only play on aisle machines where lots of people are walking by because the guy upstairs will flip the jackpot switch for you to win so all the people see a big win.

I've heard Vegas regulars tell me if you tip a host really well they give you all kinds of comps you wouldn't get just from your play.

They have added lots of kiosks, could see them add more machines that print players cards. Those reduce the staff needed.

Maybe the Resorts World cashless system will push them to automate even more.

Some things still require people. The lines and service won't be pretty if that is moved to cages.

They are eliminating the Caesars Rewards Desk/Counter in favor of automation. You can get a new card via a machine. All your promotions can be automated by the machine. Probably the only need for a counter is new sign ups.

Harrah/Harvey’s Lake Tahoe had eliminated the reward desk for at least 3 years now. Harrahs Reno too, so this is not new for CET.

Well if you have no tier benefits to redeem, you don’t need a player’s club.

I was at Bally’s two weeks ago on a Tuesday and noticed the box office area and the rewards desk next to it were empty. Maybe only on weekdays? Also one of the retail space near there was emptied out. The Diamond/7* registration room was still operational.

They may as well close it.

Last time I tried to use the automated card printer it needed a US driver's license (this was pre-pandemic) so as a Canadian I needed to go to the desk and wait in line.
I really like the idea of having automated options to minimize line wait times but there always needs to be an option for those who need to speak with a real person.. If that is the cash cage then I am fine with that.

I can confirm Bally's player's club is closed. They have signs saying to go to the cage instead. The box office is only open 1 hour prior to shows. They don't advertise their hours and just have signs saying to purchase tickets online.

Locally, our Horseshoe has a couple of machines to reprint lost/forgotten players club cards, and I used it last Friday as I forgot mine at home. At least it still spit out a Platinum card for me. I'm not really sure of the grace periods due to the pandemic.

I might guess that 80-90% of the traffic at a Players Club desk is reprinting cards. That's really all I've used it for that I can remember in the recent past, so I honestly don't see folding the operation in to the regular cage as being a big deal.

Agreed. I'm American but don't have a driver's license -- I use my passport card as my primary ID, and it confuses everyone and everything.
CR is literally the most valuable part of the entire enterprise. I cannot picture them doing away with it. They might cut back on the desks, but as mentioned, 90% is probably just reprints.

I've heard a couple of Vegas locals tell me that The Drew was going to open within about a year. They swore up and down on it. This first started in 2013.

I wonder when they will eliminate the player rewards program altogether.

I wonder if CET will ever officially announce their LV lounges are permanently closed?

    Never.
Someone will always offer a perk of some kind... they will just get progressively worse over time. Maybe to the point of just being discounted things with nothing free.. but there will always be a program.
