Rod Stewart Concerts trip report
Thanks to SHERAN I won a trip to Vegas a room at MGM Grand and tics to the show and $500 cash.
I used my winnings to pay for my Brother to fly I from L.A. I flew in Friday St. Pts weekend and check in at the airport took @1min to get checked in. Nice.
The Room was big and had the nicest bed I have ever slept on and had 5 pillows! First time I ever slept well both nights. Had a great view of Hooters.

Walked over to Tropicana and ate lunch at Garden Café it was pretty good. Gambled at Trop for a while but nothing interesting to report. I walked over to NYNY to look around. I played what looked like a video poker machine but it turned out to be a VACUME! I HATE the NYNY casino! It’s pretty but very tight.

I walked back to MGM to meet my brother. He arrived at the airport Friday @4:30 and his shuttle didn’t make it to MGM until after 6.

Yeaaaaaa me in my Bro in VEGAS!

After settling in we went to Shibuya for sushi. Ok now here’s the problem I have never eaten sushi. I don’t like cooked fish why would I eat raw fish? My brother convinced me to try it. He ordered all kinds of stuff with funny names and I tried a few bites. I didn’t spit it out like I thought I would. It was ok but had some weird textures and I won’t be eating it again, but the wasabee was great if my stomach would let me I would eat in large amounts.

We found a home in the MGM casino near the Crazy Horse bar and spent a couple hours playing VP. Around 10:30 my brother heads back to the room. I was nowhere near ready to give up so what to do? Take the monorail to Hilton and walk to Slots A Fun. Yea baby.

The monorail receipt I kept says I left at 10:23 and got back at 2:37 I will have to take their word for that.
I played craps at Slots A Fun and was drunk off my ass when somebody calls my name. I turn to the player next to me and it’s a client of mine. The guy has some serious money but there he is playing $2 craps with us lowlifes. Cool.

Saturday St. Pats day we wake and head to America at NYNY. The food and Bloody Mary were very good. Lots of drunk people getting drunker and wearing funny hats and screaming at basketball games.
Jumped on the monorail and back to Slots A Fun. If you couldn’t tell my brother and I both love the place. $3 blackjack and $2 craps and excellent drink service and the wonderful odor that is hard to explain. We played BJ, craps and VP and drank all day.
We took a cab back to MGM for the show.

The place was packed with GILFS that’s right grandmothers. This is the first concert I attended that there were people with walkers. Rod Stewart sucked! He forgot the words on the second song and sang out of key much of the show. The audience didn’t seem to mind and at least the band was good and the backup singers were great. He did sing a lot of songs and the show was 2Hrs with a 15min intermission.

Sunday up and out to another great breakfast at America at NYNY. After that my brother had to go so I walked him out to his cab. When I walked back in security had a big shirtless guy on the ground in cuffs and he appeared to be out cold. Security put a circle of chairs around him and were shooing people away. I played VP for a few hours and got just killed. I was playing a BJ machine that was a 100 play and I was playing 1 at a time until I accidentally pressed the max bet button. OOPS! $25 bet and I lost. OOPS.
I seemed that about 12noon Saturday they flipped the big switch in back that says “lose†because I lost my ass all weekend.

That’s all folks

Mike

Thanks for the TR Mike. Vegas is a great place to meet people that you hadn't planned on meeting.

Mike, you have to be careful of those vacuums that look like slot machines; they'll suck your money every chance they get. Even though the concert was for the geriatric crowd it sounds like the rest of the trip was pretty good.

We really did have a great time. Only negative was a blister on my big toe. First one ever thanks to the MGM.
