    My Trip Report

I received a comp offer for a couple nights, food and free play at Rocky Gap Resort in MD, so I reserved a stay over the July 4th weekend.

I will be driving to the resort from Ohio , which takes me by the Lucky Lady Casino in Farmingto, PA.

I search VMB for info/reviews on either of these casinos and found nothing. Just curious if anyone here has any Intel on these properties?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Never been here. This casino has a resort license which requires you spend $10 on the premises for admission. There are about 600 machines and 29 table games. Here is the admission policy explained:

DO I HAVE TO PAY TO GET INTO THE CASINO?

You do not have to pay to get into Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, however; access to the casino is limited to guests of the resort, valid membership holders, or patrons of resort amenities who have patronized an amenity having a minimum cost of $10.

At LL you pay $10 and you will receive a gift card for $10 that can be used on the property. I usually have a couple drinks on mine. LL is pretty small but it's worth checking out if you are passing through. I've actually had some good luck there over the years. They have most of the popular slots, VP and your usual table selections. Have fun! Very nice golf course at Rocky Gap if you like to play.

I go to each one a couple times a month. Blackjack is maybe a bit higher mins at LL. RG is continuous shufflers except for $25 double deck. LL gives back a bit more in offers than RG. Also fill up your gas tank in OH and MD. I'd say both are decent cheap places to play.

Lady Luck a very small casino and very hard to win anything there. Mostly penny machines with not much potential. I personally don't like the casino. It is in a beautiful area in the mountains with Nemacolin Resort right there. They have a nice golf course and nice restaurants, pool, spa ect. You can ride around and see their wild animal collection. Ohio Pile state park is nearby which is nice.

Rocky Gap is also in a very beautiful area along a lake. They have about 4 restaurants a small casino, golf course and spa. You can rent paddle boats or fishing equipment if you want to fish or just sit out by the lake if you want. They have a walking trail around the lake and a swimming area in the park next door. I really like Rocky Gap for a relaxing getaway and do seem to get some play at the casino. It is a nice drive up through the mountains too. It is out by itself without not much around but very nice.

PA has a high state gaming tax...I'd be surprised if anywhere has very good slot payback in that state

Little bit of Rocky Gap news recently. Their parent company bought the Stratosphere .
