- Trips to Las Vegas
- 20
I decided to start up a new thread for roadtrips to and from non Las Vegas casino stories. Feel free to share any of your roadtrip stories.
I once had a free roundtrip flight on Southwest to any US destination so I flew to Philly from Los Angeles, then rented a car and drove to Atlantic City (my first and only visit to the east coast and probably my last). I don't have anything interesting stories but I was surprised by the sheer number of toll booths when I drove from Atlantic City to New York city. I knew ahead of time that I would encounter toll booths so I brought a few rolls of quarters. I estimate that it cost about $20 in total in tolls each way. And not knowing my way around New York, I accidently made the mistake of having to pay $6 to cross a couple of bridges that I didn't want to cross, I remember going to Queens when I didn't want to go to Queens. I was intending to head back to Atlantic City when all of a sudden I come upon a bridge and I cannot turn around (argh). Another thing I noticed and no offense New Yorker's but drivers in New York are rude and impatient honking their horns at every turn (lol). I thought Los Angeles was fast paced but New York makes Los Angeles seem slow.
