    1. Depending on room (like a suite or something), I'll take pictures or a video (I post them for others to use for research for their trip)
    2. Shower (I always feel nasty dirty after flying)

No matter if I get in my room or not, I always like to start a trip with a Bellagio burger at Cafe Bellagio, and then a visit to the baccarat bar and get the "peach drink with the raspberry garnish". I have no idea of the name of it. Then the lady with short blonde hair cards me the obligatory one time, and the trip has begun!

Unpack - get it out of the way and take over our NEW HOME

Set A/C on lowest possible level

    Be set up for bedtime

Check for $1 and $5 bills for both of us (lots of other cash too)

Text each other with room number - we forget sometimes

Head to nearest V/P bar for a few drinks and then figure out what is next

    Check in to hotel.
    Unpack.
    Shower and Shave
Go to hotel coffee shop and have French toast, bacon and apple juice.

I've done this on every single trip since 1982.

Depends on if we're flying or driving...
Flying: When we get our bags from the belt, I play "Viva Las Vegas" by Elvis...
Driving: As soon as we come over that last hump (by M) I play "Viva Las Vegas"

No better song to get you in the mood!

Just like 'nostress', the very first thing after walking into the room is to set the A/C on the coldest setting, with the fan on 'high'. Then hang-up any packed dress shirts. Piss. Then figure out a memory-peg for the room number, which is usually gambling-related...
Example: Room 731? Double 10 and draw the ace. Room 625? Harrah's blackjack. Room 527? 14-hard. Room 624? Two blackjacks.
    You get the drift.
I've always been able to come up with a vegas-related memory peg for the room number. Now it's a ritual.

We always have to go to the Cheeseburger place in the Miracle Mile Mall. My wife loves their teriyaki burger and I like being able to people watch while enjoying one of many wonderful adult beverages I will partake in over the next 6 days.

In our usual group we have people coming in from different parts of the country so the first thing we do once we get together is always a shot a a beer to toast our upcoming adventure. If everyone isn't there yet it's throw your suitcase in the room and hit the tables asap.

Grab an over priced beer from the minibar and pace around the room impatiently until the wife is ready to go.

If I was traveling by myself I'd toss my bags through the the hotel room door and then run off into the night with my hands gleefully flailing over my head.

I always make sure there is a Gideon bible in the room and flip through it. Why? My grandfather told me he used to do that when he was travelling as sometimes he found money in the pages. He figured it was people using the bible as a safe in case the room was broken into, then forgetting they had put money there. Now it's just a thing I do.

My only ritual is get to the hotel ASAP and hope my room is ready. Once in the room the first thing I do is check the safe, because more times than not, the Ahole that checked out ahead of me left it locked and I have to call to get it opened.:grrr:

That gives me time to unpack before the technician gets there to unlock it.

    Hey Now!!!!

Take a pic of the room number on the door. Save it as the pic for Orleans. I also save whichever floor I'm parked on.

My Vegas trips always start DT and then move to the Strip. My Day 1 Rituals I've done every time are:

    1) Do Sudukos on the flight for 1-2 hours
    2) Go to Walgreens DT after check-in/room to get water, disposable razors and snacks
    3) Drop off what I just bought in #2 at my room and immediately go to 4 Queens to use my free play at Mikes Bar
    4) Have my first of many extra spicy Bloody Marys while playing VP at Mikes Bar
    5) Have $10 Prime Rib at Magnolia's for dinner the first night
    6) Go to Boars Bar at MSS to play VP
    7) Gawk at the dealers at GG, D, Binion's at night
    8) Get beads, play Wheel of Fortune coin slot at Mermaids while Ling Ling/Gabriella deliver drinks rapidly
    9) Drink way too much the first night

Can't wait to repeat these rituals two weeks from today.

The only ritual I have when gambling is I make sure my bankroll is organized so the bills are all face up and oriented the same way, sorted by denomination, stacked and folded neatly in my pocket.

Yeah, it's important to rub the Buddha! We used to start downtown with a shrimp cocktail and beer at the GG before the deli in the back disappeared, not to mention the live piano a few years prior. These days, we start a trip just like we start every morning - test our luck at bar top VP and a drink before hitting the tables.

Get sauced at the bar in the airport while we wait for the flight.
Grab an 18 pak at the casino store for check in.
Grab another on the way to the room .
Smoke one on the balcony .
Call wife and tell her we made it .

    Then its go time. :wink2:

My longstanding ritual was to go to Fontana Lounge at Bellagio for a drink, only to be told that it was closed for a meeting, a private event, a poker game, or just because they don't like me. Over a dozen trips to Vegas while it was in operation, and I never set foot in the place once.

    What is Your Vegas Ritual?

    :drunk:
☼ Either before the trip and in planning
☼ Upon arrival and just getting your feet wet
☼ At some point during your stay
☼ Upon getting ready to leave Paradise
    ☼ Upon getting home

    Upon Arrival
1: Throw some $ in the McCarran slots upon arrival
2: I'm dating myself (a little) we would typically rent a car, so we would always stop at Vacation Village to spin the big wheel and play craps in the tub.
2: We have to stop at the YESCO sign and pay homage.
3: Check in and get aquainted
4: Drive down the strip (if it isn't a parking lot) and visit our $$$

    That was for starters...

    What's yours?
    C'mon, spill your guts!:drunk:
    :vomit:

Start each morning with a Baileys and coffee. Used to walk downstairs to find whichever coffee stand I could find. Sometimes it's Starbucks sometimes it's a cart. Got tired of both the walk and the up to $4.50 for a cup of coffee. Last trip was the first time I brought a kettle and disposable coffee cups (plus a bottle of Baileys). Luv walking the strip in the morning with that cup of goodness.
