Tony passed away this weekend only 57. For those of us north of the border we had the pleasure of watching this little Dominican do amazing things on the field. He had to be 145 lbs soaking wet and could make plays deep from the hole at short like no one with his little flip throw. He was part of the first wave of Dominicans to hit the major leagues. the Jays invested heavily in the Dominican right from the get go he was their first star brought up through the system. He was over shadowed by the great Cal Ripken but, I would say for a number years they were 1 and 1A.

I watched a lot of Bluejay games since 1977. When Tony was playing shortstop he did so effortlessly.
    God Bless His Soul.

My memory of Tony is him booting away the Indians WS hopes in 1997. That being said, RIP and my condolences go out to his family.
