    My Trip Report

We just got back from a 4 night comped stay at the Rio. I'd read all the negative reviews; we've stayed at the Rio several times years ago. It has always been one of my favorite places to stay. Although I was nervous we decided to take our chances and stay there. Am I glad we did!!! We stayed @ Impanema Tower (sorry about spelling) and needed 3 rooms; my husband and I, my brother and my son. Everyone LOVED their rooms. They were huge; double in size to most LV standard rooms, with granite counters in bedroom/lounge area; and a manmade surface in the bathroom and hallway counter. We stayed in to watch football on Saturday, and everyone was comfortably seated in the room. The rooms were clean, bright and we had a view of the Stratosphere . The view isn't really important to us. We were on the 7th floor. The gambling was not bad. No one won huge, but we got to play long every time we gambled. Vegas was PACKED. We golf during the day, and gamble and go out to eat at night. We saw Jerry Seinfeld, and let me just say he was AWESOME> I usually pass on shows (would rather gamble) but my son wanted to see him. So glad we went~ There were quite a few empty seats in the Colloseum. We ate @ Mesa Grill in Cesars; excellent as usual; very pricey, so go @ lunch if you can. Also ate at the Italian place in the mall; we always get right in. They keep changing the name every time we go back. Weather was sunny but cold. The warmest day was in the 50's, coldest in the 20's. We LOVE THE M. We went there twice. I can't wait to stay here. It is gorgeous, you feel safe, the food is great and the gambling is always good for us. We had gotten a promotion in the mail for free buffet on Mon and Tues. along with free gifts. We couldn't wait to go; THEY GIVE YOU ALL THE FREE BEER YOU WANT WITH YOUR MEAL!!!! Well, we arrived and got our free gifts, then checked out the line for the buffet and decided to wait. BAD MOVE. The whole night the wait to eat was at least 3 hours. Needless to say, we never got to eat and drink at the buffet this year. There were locals from all over there. We played Goldfish for hours. Also did well with video poker. All of our sports bets won this trip, so we felt pretty happy about our experience. They also let you get points on your Harrahs card when you eat or place sports bets, FYI> Also went to my favorite, the MIRAGE and had a blast. I just love my Mirage. I got free room offers, so will probaly stay there next. We wanted to try the Cosmopolitan, but never made it there. Next time~ sigh.

Glad you had fun during your stay. I too stayed at the Rio during my last trip and had no complaints what so ever. We had 4 people in our room. We never felt like we were on top of each other. There was plenty of room. The hotel is always comped generously for me. I got a great offer this time too, but I want to try a strip property since I have never stayed at one. But I do love the Rio...
