Rio/Orleans 5/2-5/8

Well back home tonight with more cash than I came with. Definitely not my norm for a 6 night trip.
Two flights from Florida and after the long haul on Tuesday night I mentioned here,got settled in the room in the Masquerade tower 11018..No coffee make and no glasses.Safe was locked also..Get that taken care of and head downstairs..maybe 7 pm...

My favorite VP bar is the Sportsbook,sometimes it grinds you down fast,but I know the tenders and love being in the book..



Pix was taken next day but I was at the bartops (4) closest to the poker room...
Threw a $20 in the first of the machines and nothing,moved over,same thing..Moved over and again nothing..I moved to the last machine.
So $80 in and I'm thinking Oh here we go,nice way to start again...
Play awhile and just hold this face card and totally shocked to see the draw...



3rd RSF ever but never holding one or two.Could not believe it ! Forget what amount I cashed that TITO out but did move machines after that and hit a low quad..ended up with pizza from the Sportsbook deli,always decent..

Next day at the Rio was in the bar way too early after a walk to Starbucks and back to the room with two coffees and It's only like 10 am..

I get a premium quad to start the day and a couple lower ones..Make a BB Parlay $25 on 3 teams and $25 each.One game was rained out but parlay paid..

Played some $10 BJ and did ok, so a win on the day and ended up back in the room with food from the deli again,,

Next day Thursday I did the same routine with Starbucks and hit quite a few low quads to putz around the entire sportsbook bar and hit the main bar for awhile with the light system..Tender knows me and that I'm not trying to scam a free beer..I think I hit a $100 hand there,but cannot find the pix..Good music from Sirius there 70's/80's channel.

Totally drunk dinner was from the hamburger chain Smashburger..Skinny fries were decent..

Wow the travel today has caught up with me and that is all I have for tonight..Will try to finish with more pix from Orleans tomorrow

Continuing on..Friday the 5th.
Got up about 6 and did the trek from Masquerade tower to the Impenema Starbucks.Usual 2 coffees for the room..Watched the news and opened the safe to see where I was at..
I had 6 black chips in there and a couple greens and reds..Vaguely remember putting $160 in there the night before,but can't remember where the other 5 came from..Jeez

Must have had another BJ session last few days..did play craps one night but walked away even after 45 minutes or so.. remember that well.Guess that accounts for 2 blacks..
Anyway,get showered and packed up the laptop and bag.Went to the cage and cashed out..Headed over the sportsbook and gingerly sipped on the first beer of the day..Blew $40.
Thought to myself Thanks Rio see ya in September!.

Up to the room to get the bag and check-out on the TV.$102 and change for 3 resort fees..I used to pay for the internet anyway so it's an extra $50 or so for me..Just wished they still had a coffee maker and the clerk at Platinum check-in told me they are all gone..I find that hard to believe for a high-roller suite,but whatever..and BTW there was no nice ice water or anything laid out in the special check-in room (7* Diamond,Plat) This was around 5 pm...Clerk did tell me to get coffee here and the hours they have it..

Take a taxi to Orleans and driver a bit strange..he took the short route to Arville so I'm cool with that.but when some song came on the radio he's moving his hand around and head also and not some good song like rock and roll,but more like the Carpenters..Did not say a word to me entire ride..I tipped a few bucks over the fare and I had to grab the bag out myself.
It's about 9:30 am now and get in line at the desk,told to come back at 11 and yes I'll pay the extra $10? to check-in early..leave the bag at the bell desk.

I head to the sportsbook (of course) and take a seat at my favorite spot there,down by the CW station and you can just people watch from there to take a break and short walk to the TITO machines and restroom past the B connected desk.



About 6 or 7 hands in..I hit a small quad 7's or Jacks (Can't find the pix) So I stopped to take the pix to text to my buddy and VERY next hand was for $100.Back-to-back quads..(And no pix of it,I uploaded a bunch to Verizon Cloud and back to down to the pc,but not all of them I guess)..But I get checked in and head down again..Here are some pix I took in order from the time stamp for the rest of the day..

That is all I can find for the day,but up again and put in a bunch of Derby bets..
From here on out will just post whatever pix the cloud d-loaded to my pc..frustrating,sorry.These are from Saturday.







About 10 am on Derby day I went up to the ballroom to make an additional bet and then not feel guily about grabbing a coffee and pastry and muffin.Really good!
They had betting station set-up two huge big screen projectors and numerous smaller screens..Was hoping to get a t-shirt but none this year or at the Gold Coast I was told.

I ended up at the bar by the shuttle and entrance and watched it from the small theatre there from the side..Most of my bets were focused on the 17 and top of the stretch he was up there,so a bit of a rush..
Next day was Sunday and dreaded last day..cashed in 5 hundred something in Titos and bounced around the bars..
Played a $5 BJ game and broke even at $140 buy-in and $5 in tips out..Vibe sucked as people were coming and going with $25 buy-ins..I'm playing anywhere from $15-$30..
Walked from there and was just thinking why not just stash the chips in my suitcase for September trip and I should have..

Sat down at a roulette table and could not even hit a corner.Was pounding the 0's and 29 and 20 all corners..That didn't take too long...Went over to the food court and played that bar,lost some and got some food and back upstairs with a 5am wake up for the SW flight to STL that boards 7:30..

Bottom line when all is said and done,doubled the bankroll even with blowing $160 on the derby and $140 at Roulette and Tips and Taxis and food and gift shop purchases in casino and airports.Damn that stuff adds up..
Great trip and most quads I have ever seen..Southwest was fine and TSA pre-check well worth it...GL everybody..See ya in September.
