The Chica review is hardly a review. Its a bad experience more than anything. But the place does have some very interesting menu choices that make me want to try it!

Inattention is probably the thing that p*sses me off about any negative restaurant experience.

Kudos to Westie for posting the bad reviews as well as those which are fawning.

We had reservations at Chica last week, but cancelled them as we both had colds. Now it looks like maybe that was a good idea (for a while). We'll wait a bit until they get their service down. The menu looks quite nice, but without great service, why should I spend a dime there? There are too many other places to eat only steps away where I know we'll get good service.

Blue Ribbon just got added to the list of "Must Trys."

I will report back on Chica because we are definitely trying it out. One bad experience, by one person, shouldn't stop anyone from giving a new restaurant a try.

I posted that it was more like a Yelp or Trip Advisor gripe fest, and it was a waste of time...lol

My dad and I ate there on Saturday and I was quite impressed.

We had oysters, sautéed calamari, duck breast, fried chicken and corn on the cob. Everything was very good, but the chicken was the star of the show followed by the calamari (save some bread to sop up the garlicky, buttery, herby broth left at the bottom of the bowl!)

The only (minor) disappointment was the pedestrian mashed potatoes that came with the chicken. And the corn, while good, will likely be much better in the next few weeks.

Oh, and great cocktails - especially their version of an old fashion.

This is great news! Sounds like a good cross section of foods that I love. Can't wait, thanks for sharing. I'll report back in 3 weeks!
