Diamond is pretty easy to attain at Caesars properties and then there are no resort fees. I’m not a big fish and I haven’t paid a dime for a room in years. And that’s staying mid strip at places like PH, Cromwell, ballys, Caesars, and Paris.

I also haven't paid a dime for a room in years and this is with 5 nights comped and at the lower end of the totem pole with Gold. Yes, i do pay resort fees, this year it comes to just under $200. But i offest that with my rewards credits i get online. So my bill for room and fees will be zero.
I'm frugal with my money, especially with all my medical bills piling up. So what i do is book 5 comped nights at the cheapest rate, in this case Harrah's, then if i want i'll use the sandwhich to maybe upgrade to a better room, depends on the hotel, sometimes i'm fine with the basic room.
The next step is making sure my resort fees cover the balance. Many of you people only stay 2 or 3 nights, so it's even easier.

The idea, at least to me, is spending the least amount of money for the accommodations in Vegas while still staying at a complete resort in the middle of the Strip. I am able to get a nice or nicer room by just asking or using the tip.

I know many people are getting frustrated with Vegas, some saying Vegas has priced them out of Vegas, but there are ways to cut costs, even on the Strip.
You just have to know and then follow what you need to do to eliminate or at least eliminate most of the higher cost of Vegas.
It can be done, i have done it, and enyoying Vegas even more than i have going back to the 70's.

That's true, although i didn't include transportation mainly because in my case, i live close enough to use land travel, which is really, really inexpensive. I realize that most people fly to Vegas from all over the world and it can be really expensive, that's why i didn't mention it.
But hotels, dining, shows, and entertainment in Vegas can be really cheap without being cheap.......:)

It's difficult for travel sites, as well. They battle to be a few cents cheaper than their competitors. No travel site wants to be the first to add in the resort fees to the listed price. They would be the one with prices $35 higher than other sites, even though the total price would be the same.

Without some sort of FTC action requiring an all-in price up front, unlikely in the current political climate, we're stuck with "cheap" room rates and expensive resort fees.

Today I booked a room for a Thursday night in October to attend Christina Aguilera concert at Casino Rama, Orillia Ontario, Canada

    Room Rate $389
    Resort Fee $16.95
    All in with taxes $456.52

This is for a basic King Room. Every time I see a Vegas resort fee thread, I scratch my head because Vegas is still a bargain no matter how you slice it.
