    My Trip Report

Well, I had a comp day at work to burn, and SWA airfare to use, so I flew to Reno/Tahoe for a day trip.

    So, my trip objectives were:

1)Pick up promo chips at Tahoe and Reno. I plan to have about $4000 in promo chips between Reno and Tahoe for my November chip conversion trip to fund my December GGWU trip to Las Vegas.
2)Put in a minimum of 500TC at each place, to keep my ADT from totally going out the window, and to get the 1000TC daily bonus.
3)Not lose my a**, since I was still up for the year from my last two trips.
4)Cash in excess RCs for promo chips. This will allow me to perhaps take some "backend comps" on my next LV trip.

You will notice that winning or hand pay is not on the list. That's a given, but a)A winning trip is not guaranteed nor can you "make" a winning trip, and 2)Hand Pays had become hard to come by in 2016.

Got into Reno at about 9:45AM from Oakland. Only 66 passengers on the flight.

Picked up my car at Payless (Enterprise was just way too much) and got on the road to Tahoe.

Arrived at Harrahs Tahoe at about 11AM. After cashing in enough RCs to make it a "round" $500, I picked up my promo chips.

I went straight to the Wonder 4 Jackpot bank on the south side of the casino. I looked at the jackpots, and noticed that the Buffalo Gold jackpot was about $360.

For those of you who don't play Wonder 4 Jackpot, here's how it works.

You must play 4 games the minimum bet Is "small", I think $1.00 per game. The maximum is $2.50-3 dollars per game, a total of between $10 and $12 a pull.

Getting the bonus on any game triggers a spin of a wheel. You can win

1)Free games, which is a single game spin
2)Super Free games, which is four game spin
3)The progressive, which is the amount for that game's progressive, plus Super Free Spins
    4)The Grand Jackpot

The other jackpots were near $200, which is what they start at.

However, I started with Timber Wolf first, since I had hit that for $8800 in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and I had hit it on this particular machine for $600 in May.

I got two bonuses, but only free games (single games), both times I tried the six games with X5 and x10, but no luck.

I did get the x5 and x10 in one bonus spin, but failed to match anything else up.

I then started playing four Buffalo Gold games, and I saw why the jackpot got so high. Very, very tight. I was playing $11 a pull, and I quickly went through the cash that I had brought with me.

I had only amassed 240TC. TC were costing about $2.50 each at that point.

Went to the ATM to take out more cash, and went back to the machine.

OK, I violated several rules that I had in place to avoid where I had put myself.

    1)Being stubborn
    2)"It's gotta hit soon"
3)Not giving up and moving to another machine

Well, I got three bonus games on Buffalo Gold, and each time, got only free games, which is a single free game.

Then, on the fourth free game, I finally hit the Buffalo progressive jackpot and the super free games.

During the free games, I got two or three 5 Buffaloes with bonus multipliers.

At the end, I ended up with a hand pay!!

More importantly, it brought me to "up" $4-500. I had amassed 504 TC, time to go back to Reno.

After the hand pay, I tipped the slot attendant $20 and at Harrahs they share.

Went to the 18th floor to use my $60 food voucher, but the Tahoe buffet was closed. I didn't feel like eating at the American River Cafe, so I saved my $60 food voucher In case I go back this weekend (not likely).

I ate lunch at Arby's in Carson City. $9.99.

I hadn't brought any "orange pill assistance", so there was no temptation to take a side trip to the Carson City Amusement facilities, so straight on to Reno.

Got to Reno at about 1PM, and started playing Wonder 4 Tower. Nothing big, but enough to keep me playing.

Got two Super Free Game bonuses on Buffalo, but wasn't able to build the tower all the way up.

Went down to the High Limit slot pit to play $5 Pink Diamond, because "I had a dream", but the best I did was $400 after being in about $200, which was my limit.

At 3PM, I had made my 500TC, so I was at 1000TC for the day. Moneywise, I was up about $200 in Reno, so I'm up about $600, with $730 in promo chips safely put away in my bag.

I went and got the $230 in promo chips from Reno.

So, now what to do? I "earned" a free buffet at Harrahs, but the buffet didn't Open until 4:30.

My flight doesn't leave until 8PM, and I definitely didn't want to be in a casino, so I got in the car and just drove around. I had though about seeing a movie, but I'd seen everything I wanted to see. So, what the hell, I had the car, and just started driving around Reno.

Finally, 4:30 rolled around and I went to the Harrahs buffet. They only charge $19.99 for the buffet, and it was a decent buffet (especially since I was comped). No crab, I was told only Friday/Saturday

One the way down to the car, I lost $100 playing Megabucks and Astro Cat, and decided that I was finally done.

Returned the car, and went to the airport to start this TR.

Thanks for reading. It turned out OK. Came home with more money that I went up with, plus $730 in promo chips.

Enough to pay for a new Air Conditioner since I'm giving my old one to my ex-wife this weekend.

Nice winning trip.... Had a chuckle with "On the way to the car, I lost..." By the way, what are promo chips? Are those actual chips they give you that you can cash in at any CET props or are they virtual chips?

CET Promo chips are "play until you lose chips. If you get Free Play, you can also take it in Promo chips.

This is my current accumulation of Promo chips

Man... you packed a LOT into a day! Bravo! I love that SWA Oakland/Reno flight... so quick. It was available for many years and stopped several years ago, only to put it back on a couple of years ago. I worry about it's future, as it's never even close to full when I'm on it. I returned from Oakland a few months back around 7:30 p.m. and I think there was 8 of us on the plane. When it wasn't available, the alternative on SWA was Reno/Vegas then Vegas/Oakland... yuck!
