Friend's wife has some medical conference in Vegas, so following along for three and a half days.

Lots of cigars and single malt scotch. Restaurants. Maybe a losing sports bet or two.

Downtown Portland skyline on the drive in to the airport.

I'm guessing they circle because of other flights that are arriving before them and they have to do something before the runway is clear for them.

Got a little behind in keeping this thread live yesterday, as schedule got a little scrambled. Friends of friends were in town on their first trip and needed a little guidance.

So we pulled them off Fremont street and took them to dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. And Bellagio Conservatory after.

Went to Peppermill for breakfast after we landed yesterday. But wait looked to be about an hour. So bailed on that and went for Hash House A GoGo at Rio. First time at the Rio one. Far quicker service there than at the Linq one.

Couple of college football bets at the Rio. Close on the parlay but the Bama one seemed obvious to me even at those points.

Also hit the new Total Wine store at Town Square on the way in from the airport. Much prefer their selection to any of the Lee's stores. But Lee's has the cheap disposable flasks and none here. Just BYO next time.

Old reliable Aberlour Abuandh should get me and my cousin through this trip.

Off to a great start, including the sunrise departure with that fabulous view. LOVE MAG thought I typically have breakfast there. The one downside is that there's no fountain show that early but the general strip watching is still great. That view though of the fountains never gets old.

Wow! I can't wait to see the conservatory in person. I was there during Thanksgiving but they still had the Fall display so it must have just been changed to holiday/Christmas within the past couple of days. Looking forward to seeing it in person in a few weeks!

Mirage now after dinner at Carmine's.

Cold outside tonight. But the heaters on the patio at Rhumbar make it really comfortable.

Sorry to the cigar aficionados out there, I've been forgetting the pictures. Cohiba Siglo IVs and Rhumbar Mojitos.

Rodeo crowd out in full force at the Mirage. They turned the entire sportsbook into a country dance floor with a live band and it's absolutely packed!

I feel like I'm the only guy here not wearing a cowboy hat, ha.
