VP/Craps/UTH player mostly have been with MGM in the past. I was interested in dropping by a local CET (Joliet) to potentially seed some future Vegas offers.
Do we think it is very important to actually stay at the property or is just 2-3k play itself adequate for some weekday/reduced weekend offers?

Wondered what folks thought?

Have you played at CET Vegas properties in the last 18 months? If so, your Vegas offers will be based on that play. If it's been more than 18 months, your play elsewhere should generate calendar room comps. For $3k c/i on VP, don't expect weekend comps though, especially at the nicer properties. $3k on VP at a 3% hold will only generate about $90-150 in theo.

Thanks for the input.

Its been more than 18 months (maybe 10 years since I was in a CET property) and that is good to know about regional vs Vegas. Maybe I should up my coin in a bit. Although if I play UTH that often gives a bit more to the casino than VP. I probably only need CET for some midweek or monday crossover in Vegas, but I am sure there is a sweet spot somewhere from the basis of coin in to offers given.

Is Elgin nice? I will have to look into it. I had thought other than Horseshoe, Joliet was my only option and I to be honest I have never been to any of them as I am new to the area. I will take a look. So for seeding purposes it sounds like a hotel stay doesn't really matter, It sounded like minimums were not too high at Joliet.

If you can find your Caesars player’s number, check and see if they have anything for vegas there for you already. They give rooms out like candy

Elgin is okay. It's a barged riverboat with limited food options, but they tend to run better promos than the other Chicagoland CET properties. For example, this month on Sundays they're doing a tier-based RC multiplier. Gold gets 3X, Diamond gets 5X, D+ gets 6X, DE gets 7X and 7* gets 10X.

It all depends on what type of comps you're looking for and how much you're willing to play on your one-day visit. Doing 1,000 TC in a single gaming day would probably open calendar comp options in Vegas a bit, my guess would be weekdays at the better properties and possibly weekends at the lower to mid-range properties. Doing 2,500 TC in a single day would probably open up the calendar comps across all properties and possibly even some entry-level suites and/or Nobu. *Disclaimer: this is just my opinion. These are the types of comps I have experienced with similar play in Vegas.
