As another year comes to a close and another year looms close ahead, I sit and ponder: life, health, world issues, finances, family, travel. Waxing philosophic always comes at this time of year and I always ask what I could/should have done and what I want to do.

Here's the assignment: You can answer as your situation directs. As your desire dictates. Serious or fun!

"In 2016, I wish I had/wanted to ________________"
"In 2017, I will make sure/plan to _______________"

In 2016, I wish I had played less high dollar slots. The damn W2-gs messed up my taxes.
In 2017, I will make less casino visits. It is become apparent that I can not play only low denomination slots.

2016 I wish I'd spent less time planning for others.

2017 I plan to put ME first.
More pool time, more salons, more massages and I'm not driving.
More solo time and meeting up if convenient...no more 24/7.

I'm trying my best NOT to ponder 2016 or try planning 2017. Yeah, I know that failing to plan is planning to fail, but since literally all of my previous plans, hopes, and dreams went down the tubes, I quit! On second thought, maybe playing live poker in a casino will be my big goal for next year, having just played for fun for the very first time on Monday.

As Doris Day (anyone here old enough to remember) sang, "Que será, será / Whatever will be, will be / The future's not ours to see / Que será, será"

Nonetheless, Happy New Year everyone!

I try not to wax nostalgic too much, as it tends to itch a lot afterwards!

But, here goes:

In 2016, I wish that I had not invested in calf implants. The darn things moo every time I take a step! :faint:
In 2017, I will finally build that spice rack my bride wants. If I can only find the thyme...

Happy New Year!

The universe is in constant motion so arbitrary human devices like the Julian calendar might help us compartmentalize things but don't really amount to anything in the grand scheme. We lost people we love this "year," sadly that likely will happen next "year." My wife and I, friends and family, will continue to achieve and fail at times, and throughout always knowing that our love for each other and our times together are the most important gift we receive and give. On either side of the divide, we will travel and overindulge, laugh and cry, try to help those who need a hand, and maybe even learn a thing or two. Losing more weight would be cool, too. ;)

But whatever we call it or how we mark the expansion of time ... good cheer to all!!!
