Different question on redemption. I have a buffet coupon at Mirage that requires an MGM stay. Any idea if I can use this on say Monday if I'm not checking into the hotel till Tuesday?

myvegas rewards are "supposed" to be day before and day after stay(with reservation in your name). Really depends on person at mlife desk if they know that.

I've never heard that before, anything with stay required I've had to give them my room number.

Most buffets are good for 24 hours once loaded onto your card (for the meal you bought it for), so I think you could do breakfast the day after check out if you needed but I am not sure about day before.

Thanks for the responses! I'll try at my upcoming trip and see what happens.

Been verified by myvegas and several people say they have done. YMMV depending on hotel. They do need to see confirmation.

I was not asked for any room number, confirmation number, or anything else to actually prove I was staying at a mgm property last time (I was). I was redeeming the bellagio buffet and when I got to the front of the line I realized I didn't have my conf number for Aria (was not even assigned a room yet, checking in later that day). The lady said, I just need to know where you are staying and gave me my free buffets (one for that day, one for the next. only stayed at aria one night).

Just used the Mirage buffet tonight. Didn't even ask if I was staying at an MGM property. Easy.

Does anyone have experience with a casino loading the buffet awards, then not letting someone use it due to blackout periods? For instance, I loaded on my card for Aria, then was politely told by the myvegas desk I could use it Fri-Sun, so I had it refunded. Could I have still used it?

If it was a BOGO it doesn't matter. There are some that require a stay and others don't. I have used Mirage buffet without a stay, but that was the one without a key on it. See page 2 of reward for terms and conditions

Fri-Sun is always blacked out unless it is a BOGO for some properties. Usually it is Mon-Thu for most.. And yes they can black out any time they wish. Right now most are blacked out til next year for "holiday pricing"

We had two Aria buffet rewards a couple of weeks ago, lunch and dinner. Mlife loaded them on either the Thursday or Friday morning. They asked which day we were going to use the dinner and we said Monday and they loaded them on the card and we used them no problems. We did the dinner on the day we checked out with no problems.

Ok - so the buffet cashier will simply stop you and inform you it's not good for that day? I was wondering if their systems were that robust.
