    My Trip Report

Afternoon All and Greetings from the UK,

a few brief jottings of our recent trip my wife and i took, after visiting in November i did not think we would get a trip in this year, but this was agreed after a few stressful months at work, and after a great week last week she has already agreed to a repeat trip this upcoming November, as her birthday falls around Thanksgiving each year it works well for us.

    Hotels
had two nights each at Red Rock ( on their summer offer discounted rate and $50 food credit each night) , and Mirage (resort room, 1 night comp, 1 night $45 plus $50 a night resort credit).

we both love Red Rock, the rooms are great, especially bathroom amenities, good food choices and decent gaming choices for my limited bankroll. Saying that i never seem to win there . Mirage i don't play there often but the offer seemed fair and on arrival we decided to upgrade to a suite for $100 a night, $200 a night less than the pricing the previous week, so happy with that. Room was huge, too big for both of us, but hey ho we are on holiday so might as well enjoy.[IMG] .

    Dining

I won't bore you with detail after detail, however wanted to give a big shout out for Echo & Rig in the Tivioli Village. Part of the reason for our trip was to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and as we were at Red Rock we decide to have our special meal off strip. did some research and plumped for Echo and Rig, proved to be a great choice, service was superb, as was the food, we both enjoyed wonderful steaks, the charred onion sauce to accompany the steak was quite wonderful, and the porterbello mushroom and Parmesan fries ( or chips to us brits) where exceptional. they even gave us a free desert and the meal came to less that $200 with tips, we will certainly be returning. oh and the Giordano's pizza in front of Bally's, wow just wow loved every bite. one down side was the burger place at the Mirage, service was poor, food average at best, overall just not what you would want even at a casual dining experience.

    Gaming,

to summarise quite briefly, table games we sucked big time, apart from a small blackjack win, VP and slots we did ok. On arrival in Vegas my wife hit 4 deuces at Sunset Station with 15 minutes of sitting down, which became a theme, she hit on Buffalo , Roulette , actually mostly when she sat and gambled, i don't know why i don't get her gambling more at this rate. For me it was mixed, red rock for the first day and a half i could not hit much at all, was around $600 down overall until i hit a 5 of a kind 2's on DDB split card machine for $300, that was my only bit hit at Red Rock but started a small recovery that continued to Mirage, where i found 2 double super times machines that seemed to give me some play for my money. on my second morning i sat down at one, after a little play , at 5c 5 play level, was dealt 3 to the royal, and the first filled up for my first natural royal for around 4 years. Moved over to the next machine, played DDB and had 4 different hits of 4 aces within 15 mins, including one with a mutiplier, overall left those two machines up $800 which was greatly needed. hopefully the VP porn will upload below[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] . my other ventures where mainly on let it ride, 3 card poker and high card flush, all of which i sucked at big time

    other jotings
    • doing 20000 steps up and down the strip in 90 degree weather is a killer, my wife is a tough woman to be sure.
    • the poker games bled me dry this time, but i love them.
    • went into treasure island around 10 am one morning, there was a very loud, drunk, guy on the roulette there, seemed to be having fun so each and to there own, looked like he had been there all night. anyway returned to the Mirage around 8 hours later, and the guy was in there, still on roulette and with a very large stack on chips in front of him, must have been a great run, still loud, heaven knows how he made it through the day.
the disappointing nearly life changing final note

after we left town we had 3 nights in LA. On the saturday i managed to get my wife to agree to a trip to the Perchanga Casino ( how big , got lost walking around ). I decided to play let it ride, after a few hands was dealt A,J,10 hearts, so three card bonus had come in, let the first card ride , K hearts, ok full blown heart palpitations now, lady next to me asks what i have, so tell her, she says, sorry i have the Queen, heart rate drops, dealer turns over the other hole card, Q Diamonds, ouch that hurt, somehow winning $220 for a Straight did not seem any consolation.

    Next trip,

November, hopefully, we actually came back with some money this trip, so that is a start, just need to get saving and watch those airfares.

    cheers all
