That makes it sound like the Westgate website was never updated for the buffet after COVID hit. Or they still just open the buffet when they feel like it (pre COVID I walked by the buffet several days & they had a sign saying they weren't going to be open today -- as in, "we're only open when we feel like it"). So I don't think I have actually eaten at the buffet there since it was the Las Vegas Hilton. It wasn't the best buffet in town back in the day but they did have prime rib and free beer at night.

I was a 'regular' there in the 80s (Las Vegas Hilton) & I liked it a lot!
Lots of good, 2-deck, low-minimum blackjack... generous with comps & offers (They were my back-up to the Stardust).
Back then, the rooms were good & the service was too. Really good cocktail service...(but then, I guess most places were pretty good for that back then!)
As an aside, I saw James Garner there once (in the lobby, by the front desk, but not in line), and actually played at a blackjack table with Jack Nicholson!

I used to love staying here when it was the LVH. I haven't back since it was changed to the Westgate however. Used to love playing VP all day in the Sportsbook area and watching sports. I'll in town later this month so I might give it another try.

We like it there. We stopped going during the corona when the monorail wasn't running because it's not close to anywhere else. It has one of the most convenient monorail stations. Our rooms have been decent and we like the Benihana. The Sportsbook is excellent. We will be staying there next month for a couple days and will give a heads up. Yes, the VP used to be very good and was beheaded. VPfree shows some FP BP, some 9-7 DB, 9-6 DDB & airport deuces.

I liked it so much during my Labor Day weekend visit that I decided to go again next month. Getting my room comped and free play didn’t hurt either during rodeo weekend ! :wiggle:
