So my husband and I are visiting in a few weeks for our 10 year anniversary. We always do one big night out and always a steakhouse - have done Prime, Delmonico's and a few others.

I was looking for something a bit different so we reserved Andiamo's. My husband loves steak (I do too) but I also love Italian.

But I have since then gotten a ton of recommendations for Rao's. And they have veal, which is a favorite of my hubby.

    So which would you choose?

We've been to both and enjoyed our meals. Obviously, the difference is the Strip vs. Downtown. I actually prefer ordering a nice steak at Andiamo over more traditional Italian fare. They do have a nice veal dish called Veal alla Aldo, I believe. The meatballs at Rao's are great and I love the rigatoni dish, as well. If you're planning on spending a night downtown, I'd suggest Andiamo but I'm not sure I'd go downtown solely to eat there.

Finally making back to Vegas (fingers crossed)!!

We were going downtown just for Andiamo. On the other hand we have Elton John tickets at Caesear's so could combine Rao's with that.

Well, If you're downtown, at least stay for the Fremont Street Experience.

    That makes Rao's a no-brainer...

I think it's a given that you should choose Rao's since you're going to be at Caesars anyway. I've been to both and like both. That being said:

Steak with Italian sides and downtown - Adiamo

Old school Italian with a New York vibe and you're on the strip - Rao's

I was underwhelmed by Rao's. Not saying the food was bad but considering the hype and cost, it wasn't special enough. I understand if you don't want to make a special trip downtown for Andiamo's but I would probably hit one of the Forum Shops restaurants before going back to Rao's.

In early Feb,I returned to Rao's for the first time in several years.
I was very pleasantly surprised as the food and service were outstanding.
It is an easy decision for you to choose Rao's.

I would consider The Palms in Forum Shops as well. It is VERY good, and you can get Italian and steak. Their veal parmigiana is to die for. Either way enjoy your evening!

Rao's for the win. Their lemon chicken is outstanding, the meatballs always perfect. No one makes a better marinara.

We decided Rao's for something different and my husband loves veal and they have several veal options. Though our Elton John concert got canceled. Boo!

Ate at Rao's on Thursday and was totally underwhelmed, will not ever go again. Have not eaten at Andiamos in Vegas but good in Michigan. Martorano's at Paris has my vote.

I realize most people enjoy wine/alcohol with their Italian food... but if you're like me and drink a soft drink (Diet Coke is my vice) you may be interested in knowing if you order a soda/pop, there are no free refills included - you are buying a can at a time (with a glass/ice on the side).
