I hope I can gather my thoughts together and get a real TR posted, but wanted to get some moments on "paper" while they were still relatively fresh:
It is possible to have too many limo rides, believe it or not. They were all fun in different ways, but most of them blended so much into the others than I barely remember which was which.
Birthday kisses: Got many smooches. Got one from Blackjack and actually remembered it this year! And as soon as it happened, I remembered the one from last year (finally), just like a case of deja vu. Props to Al for realizing, correctly, that our first attempt did suck and for making it right. That was funny. I was fortunate to get my birthday kiss from Larry prior to his hitting the Jagerbombs. Can't say the same about Terry... And, Sin kicks all your asses in the kissing department!!! I didn't get a smooch from Angy, but I got two really gorgeous earrings as a present - I actually felt bad because that afternoon I had bought myself something I've always wanted, diamond earrings. I would have instantly put on one of Angy's beautiful pairs otherwise.
There were several people I feel I didn't see enough of... Sticky, Ross, Angy, Ron are among them. Only one person I saw too much of - Don D. (don't take that as a slam on Don... he's cool... those who were there know what I'm talking about
) Finally getting to meet Patti and Chef were among the highlights. And it was great to see so many of my online friends again - although there were so many it was sometimes dizzying.
As mentioned in another thread, the poker tournament was a smashing success! I really love it that Bill won the whole thing for fish everywhere!
Forgetting to eat is not a good thing, especially when alcohol is involved, although I'm very grateful that I was never actually badly hungover. Had good bites at Trattoria del Lupo (Mandalay Bay), Commanders Palace and Pinot Brasserie. Ate twice at Binions coffeeshop and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. I am ashamed to say where I ate "brunch" on Saturday morning because of forgetting to eat dinner Friday night and being famished as the poker tournament approached.... McDonald's at the Plaza. Ouch. I still love Grand Lux though!
The Junior suite I had at Plaza (South tower, room 1154) wasn't bad at all. It was very spacious, and although there were some stains in the carpeting and it was clearly past its prime, it was clean and comfortable. Yeah, Wynn beats it handily, but for Downtown, I didn't think the Plaza was bad at all.
Hey RFT? If you actually showed up, I never got to say hi. The poker tourney was fun figuring out who was who.
More to come later - along with a few previously unpublished pictures.
