Appreciate you sharing your experience Breanna. I think sometimes people who have no power in other parts or their life try to exert their power at work for their own gratitude. Next time I think I will carry a personal BAC track - returning home I always look so exhausted and beat down that it could always be misunderstood. I like your attitude - move on and start planning your next trip - although I would be tempted to write them a scathing letter. Hope to meet up with you again in Vegas!

A BAC track is a very good idea! Wish I’d had one with me. Next Vegas trip will be on Westjet but I do, sadly, have another Swoop flight booked to Nova Scotia. I read a bunch of reviews and most of the negative comments of “staff with attitude” seem to stem from Las Vegas so hopefully no drama.

Next time our trips coincide again, cocktails at Chandelier; providing no one is flying Swoop that day ;)

It will be interesting when you make your next Swoop flight to see if you have been "Flagged" for some extra attention.

They will have to come up with something creative as I won’t so much as walk past a liquor store before the flight. The staff at Hamilton airport was very pleasant. From reviews I have since read, Vegas seems to have the issue so I am not going to stress about it.

    Well not just Vegas,,,

My work colleague was coming back to Hamilton from Winnipeg yesterday afternoon.

She got into Hamilton at 4 am!

Crew over time limit in original flight apparently.

She is one and done .

She did make it work for 10 am - I guess she’s hunting for that bonus!

Thanks for the great trip report Breanna - it was great to follow.

As for the flight experience - I think the others have summed it up well in terms of what we all think of it.

I once flew home to New Zealand from Vegas on a sunday , after an all night session with an Aussie golfer who was trying to make his way on the PGA tour (it was Master's weekend so he had the week off), and his caddie who had been on the roster of a NHL team in Canada. Anyway I was physically sick in a toilet at LAX after checking into the flight home with Air NZ due to being so hungover. Never a word was said..... and I slept for over 10 hours from getting into my seat until 20 minutes out from landing (I'm not proud of that episode but it just seems weird the hard time you got in comparison)

I read a review on a Swoop flight that was seriously delayed in Vegas. The reviewer stated that the agent at the gate told them if they kept asking questions when the flight does finally board, he would not permit them to board. WTH? Aren't they supposed to assist?

Hamilton is right up the road from us I don't want to chance that outcome, so we will continue to drive to Buffalo to fly Southwest. Shame on Swoop air lines for being anti customer friendly!

Swoop is dirt-cheap, right? Sounding like an unfortunate case of getting what's paid for.

Actually, though it is classed as a discount airline, I could have flown cheaper on Westjet out of Toronto but chanced it because the Hamilton airport is so convenient vs the cluster that is Pearson Airport in Toronto.

Departure airport can make us do some weird things. I know that.

I finally read through the TR. All I can say is wow! I have never in my life not gotten on a flight w/o alcohol on my breath. Even the 8 AM flight we were on 3 weeks ago from Vegas, I had two in the bar before. I would have gone so ballistic and then probably been arrested.

Thank you for sharing your trip report. Enjoyed reading. I can’t imagine having to deal with all that stress at the end. You handled it very well.

Everything that can be said - has been said. I just wanted to add how wonderful that you hadn't checked out of Bally's and at least had a "home" base to figure this all out in. I can't imagine this happening and NOT having a place to rest/rebook/get it together. Sorry it happened. Just for the record - absolute ridiculousness on Swoop's end.

The trip report and all the pictures were great. And like everyone else, I am sorry to what happened to you with this Swoop Airline. My philosophy has always been to pay more for a better airline. I would never fly Spirit for example from NYC to Vegas. I would much rather pay more for JetBlue, Delta or Alaska, but have no stress on my vacation. Delays, whether weather related or mechanical happen on all airlines, but what happened to you guys can only happen on some low cost airline, that probably over booked the flight to begin with, and needed to make room. And you were the perfect candidate in their eyes.

Thanks casnokid! We just booked our December flight to Vegas on our usual Westjet out of Toronto. Unfortunately I had already booked Swoop for a trip in June to Nova Scotia before this happened. I really wish I hadn't done that :( Apparently they cancelled a flight from Vegas to Hamilton that was to leave Vegas on a Sunday and didn't advise the passengers until Wednesday they were rescheduled to leave Thursday evening....four days after the original flight so lots of complaints online as most flew another airline home and are fighting to be re-imbursed.

I can’t believe P!nk is still on the Beautiful Trauma tour. We saw her April 14th of last year on the same tour. She’s one of my favs.

I’m a bit concerned about this development. Might need to cancel our lounge visit next trip. If you have to have a couple of drinks some time before a long flight, you may well have flight anxiety.

My friend from the UK can only visit her son in LV because we take her. She is afraid of flying and takes prescribed meds to make the journey. I’m concerned that she might be turned away next time we take her to visit her son.

Nothing to do with alcohol, but she is pretty out of it when she gets on the plane with us. She wouldn’t do it if she didn’t have the meds.

Being “out of it” would definitely be a concern. My Uncle is afraid to fly and always has a couple of shots before boarding. He is flying to Nova Scotia with us in late June and, unfortunately, we booked with Swoop before this happened. I warned him about our experience.
