Only one for me: deposition cat! I will always remember that one because a decade ago I was in vegas with my best friend, who is also a lawyer and cat lover, and we bet on deposition cat to win some random race. When we won, we ran around the Monte Carlo sportsbook like we'd just won the powerball!

    Gin Drinker.

This nondescript gray spoke to me through mental telepathy in the paddock at the now defunct Garden State Racetrack. He told me was going to win.

It was the last race of the day and my last $2,00.

He won and I collected $120.00.

    I have 3

Flying Falcon - standard bred at the old Balmoral Park. I was about 7 years old and my dad gave me $2 to bet on a horse and being a big Stars Wars fan I picked him for place. He placed and I won about $7 and felt rich.

Kim Loves Bucky - a graded stakes horse. I have a sister named Kim who had a dog named Bucky.

With Anticipation - a big white (or maybe gray) graded stakes horse who was known for thundering down the stretch for a late charge.

Not a horse but a dog. Floozy.

Dog track in Tijuana circa 1982. Floozy was running in the last race and was the overwhelming favorite. She had a HUGE lead coming down the home stretch but stumbled and went ass over tea kettle for what must have been about thirty feet and didn’t even make it to the fish line.

Whenever I hear a term that even resembles a floozy my mind immediately wanders to that night.

Ferdinand who won the Kentucky Derby in 1986. Bet him on a whim when tossing the 'who do you like'talk with my buddy in NJ..He says his GF likes Ferdinand also and it was done 40 WPS..I watched it on a grainy B+W tv at work and saw that great ride up the rail by 'The Shoe'.
Nice payday and bet was made at/from Monmouth Park NJ.

My BFF often speaks of a horse named "Bok Lun".

In Cantonese, that translates to "White D**k (Male Sex organ)"

Zippy Chippy. raced on the Mass Fair circuit. Over 100 starts and never won a race. A Guy wrote a book about him which I have.

another on the circuit was Pitchtilluwin

I owned a pacer named Fritz as well as one named Gimmedaloot.

    I'll probably think of more.

Secretariat. Watched him win the Kentucky Derby. Never went to another horse race in my life, but I’ll always remember that-everyone should go to Churchill Downs once in their life. Great name, great horse, great event. Perfect.

God, what a horse. This is one of my favorite sports photos of all time. Ron Turcotte taking a peak behind as Secretariat is about to win the Belmont by about 25 lengths. I remember reading in a book that after Secretariat was put out to stud even the other horses showed him respect by waiting for him to finish eating before they would even approach the feed.:clap::clap:

Don't know much about horse racing, but I remember him as being one of the greats.

    just remembered another...
Back in the 70's there was a horse that ran at sufferin downs named Ogurki which translates from Polish to pickle. All the old boys at the White Eagle Club would play him when I was taking bets for a bookie while bartending.

"Seabiscuit in the 3rd" I believe was a quote from Huggy Bear in a Starsky and Hutch episode.
